I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas, was very pleasent in No Cal, it is cool and gray outside scheduled to rain a little today.


We may have missed the 40 day dance, but today we are at the 1.1.1

1 month 1 week 1 day dance. Christmas is over and we are beginning to get out the warm weather clothes and do a test pack to keep our bags limited to a total of 3 including our carry on for the two of us, wish me luck.

On our cruise meet last year here on the DIS board we all shared our name and pictures before the cruise. It was great because throughout the trip we'd run into each other, and well, since I'm horrible with the whole face-to-a-name thing it was great to have my cheat sheet.
Would you all be interested? If so, I'll start:

Umber thats a great pic! Is that a dress night? I am trying to give my hubby an idea of how to dress. He is shock that he can't wear dress shorts!

I can't remember, maybe formal or semi-formal. Don't stress out too much about it, I think my husband refused to wear a tie (he's stuck in suit all the time with his job - he didn't feel like having to wear it on vacation. Nobody cares.) On the other hand it's a nice opportunity to dress up. I own a horse stable so unlike my husband, I never get to dress up at work, so I actually feel it's a treat to dress nicely.

Umber-We have a dd5 and ds 8. Her name is Sarah and as soon as I figure out how to load a pic I will. Maybe we could meet at the begining of the week. Sarah would like the club more if she knows someone in there!

My daughter Morgan is a big time fan of the kid's club! She's always looking to ditch us to go do all the fun activities at "the club". She would love to meet a friend there. Last year Morgan had a little e-mail buddy for a few months up until our cruise. They finally got to meet on the boat and went to the club together often. If Sarah would like an e-mail buddy she can e-mail Morgan at faylamassage@comcast.net and Morgan would be pleased to get her excited about the club!

That would be great except Sarah doesnot know about the trip! We are suprsing the kids!! We do not plan to tell the until Feb. 2 the day we fly out!!!

Its really hard especially the closer it gets!!! I am trying to get my son to work ahead at school! Then I have to secretly pack! I have an enchated call set up for that morning from Mickey!!!

Okay, it is after the holidays.....I promised DH I would wait until after Christmas to continue my obsessive cruise planning.....just booked our Limo/Towncar....I am off to Walmart and the $ store today....pre packing has begun!!

We still need to find a time and place for our first meet on the ship....anyone have any ideas of a good time????

I am not familiar with the ship so I don't know where!! But maybe in the loading aea? I am no sure but I would love to put faces with names! Last year we shared an Illuminations cruise with some fellow disers! Non dis folks don't understand!

Hi all -

I haven't posted since way back when. We were unsure if we were going to be able to cruise b/c of dh's job. However, we're in, we're in!!

We told the kids (DD 7, DH 4) at Christmas - it was met with an underwhelming response. I don't think they got it. However, I've spent the morning on the board with them looking at the pictures of the day and reading the activities from the Oceaneer Club. Now they're so excited that they want to leave today! Ummm...I'd better get cleaned up from Christmas so I can get us ready in time!

Looking forward to meeting you all soon! We'll be cruising before we know it!

OK so we have Palo for the first night on board. My df from NJ thats oing wih us thinks that the kids maynot be ready to be alone first night. Me personally I think my kids will be ok! Hers are a little older both girls 10 & 11. They don't have to eat the restraunt do they? Or what are the chances of getting a different night when we arrive at port?
