Okay, I checked the old weather reports for Feb., it said av. high 72, low 50's. DO most people wear shorts or pants? I always go in May when it is hot, but Feb. I am not sure what I should mostly pack. I know I will probably need winter clothes at night, but what do most people do during the day?

I would pack a mixed of winter and summer clothes just to be on the safe side. Just in case a cold front comes though.

Go prepared for both, we have gone three times in Feb. The first and second times, we wore shorts during the day and pants in the evening and night. The third time we never took the shorts out and even wore sweatshirts most days, so you just never know.

It is a packing dilemma, for sure. Like everyone else said, be prepared for anything. We've been there a couple times in early February, and have seen many different types of weather:

Last year, it was 78 and sunny almost everyday, so we only needed light jackets or sweatshirts for the early morning and late evening.

Back in 1996, the temperature dipped into the 20's at night (record lows for FLA), and didn't go above 55 during the day. The CM's and the Floridians were wearing gloves, earmuffs, & scarfs even during the day (people from places like Minn. and ND, on the other hand, were wearing shorts). We wore clothes somewhere in between (light jackets, pants and sweatshirts).

We are going in February again this year, and we will pack some of everything. It's your best bet.

We were at WDW this past Feb 7-14. Feb 8 was freezing. I was wearing jeans, jacket, gloves, and ear warmers. Feb 9 at AK, I work khaki pants but was rolling them up before too long. It got pretty warm. I was in shorts and t-shirts for the remainder of the trip with a light jacket in the evening.

lol ! So I need to bring gloves ! I didn't even think about that! Did anyone get to swim durning there Feb. vacation?

We went for a weekend this past Feb. When we got off the plane we were amazed at how warm it was (coming from a brutal NY winter). The next day it was a bit colder to say the least. For us we weren't really bothered b/c like I said anything above 50 was welcomed. I wore my flip flops and jeans. I did buy a sweatshirt to wear. People were buying gloves and hats and were really complaining. I have to assume that they were coming from warmer climates. Our last day, it was warm again. I mean t-shirt and skirt warm, which made for a great shock when walking out of JFK!!!;)

Enjoy your trip!!!

We were there mid Feb this year and the weather is absolutely beautiful! The beginning of the week, you needed a light jacket or sweatshirt in both the morning and after dark. During the day, you would be comfortable in shorts and a tee-shirt, or jeans and a tee-shirt. People really wore a combination or both. Sweatshirts with a tee underneath and shorts seemed to be what we wore most. I would still bring a pair or two of long pants, because one day was a little chilly and we kept our sweatshirts and jeans on all day.

If you want to visit the water parks (one or the other is typically closed this time of year for refurbishment), pick the warmest day to go. Most of the hotel pools are heated, so plenty of people were swimming all week.

I guess I will need to be prepared either way. Maybe to get away with so much clothes, I could do a load or two of laundry on one of our non park days. I never had to pack gloves AND swimsuits! lol:crazy:

You really do have to bring a little of everything-- pants, shorts, jackets-- but there is a very good chance you will be able to swim, we were able to four of the five days we were there. But we were lucky with the weather.

If my DH is in Florida ... he will have shorts on!!! LOL.

Take a both long and short pants!!

You definitely have to take a little bit of everything, but I also check weather.com a couple days before I go and let that tip the scales or one bathing suit or two; 3 pants and two shorts, or two shorts and three pants, and same with long sleeve/short sleeve shirts. Last Feb Pres week, on Monday I was in my long johns under sweats and on Firday we were at the water park. Go figure.

Great tips everyone! Its great that we get excited about each others trip! lol My DH doesn't even want to mention he is going again to Disney at work. They think it is just a kids place and they just don't understand us "real people". :p

Like everyone above said bring a mixture. We went the end of Jan. last year and living in Canada and leaving -40 with the wind chill anything above 0 is warm. We wore pants for 1 day out of our trip and the weather was between 56-63. Now because we were in Florida in the middle of the winter, we just had to wear shorts and t-shirts. Now if the weather at home was that, we'd be in pants. The florida people were in thick coats, hats and mitts. Us people from the colder part and the NYorkers were in shorts.
It really depends on how you deal with the colder weather.
No matter what you'll be fine and you'll have a good trip.

Hey Disneyof3! It looks like we are going to be there at the same time! If you havent noticed, our counters are in the double didgets!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Windsuits are great...wear shorts underneath and strip as the day goes on. I would suggest spring and summer clothes...winter clothes seem abit extreme unless you are used to hot winters. We've been able to get to the waterparks everytime in Jan and swim in the evening. Mornings and evenings can be cooler but my DH lives in shorts when we are there. I like shorts or light pants. Its harder to pack for, thats for sure, need abit of everything, lol. Its been 0C here some mornings and we are still in spring coats.

Definately bring hats and gloves for everyone. These items are very expensive in the parks.

I've been to Disney the last 2 years in February. Both years the weathers been good. During the day it warm 70's shorts. Cools off at night a little, jeans in the evening, some nights you may need a light jacket.

When it gets cool, it usually means the wind has picked up.

A total of 20 days in 2 years. 1 very cool day needed a jacket. 2 evening showers. Swam every day and most evenings.

I agree to bring a variety of clothes. We were there in early Feb 2004 and wore shorts, t-shirt, sweatshirt some days (shed the sweatshirt during the day), one day we were bundled up and still cold, and other says some where in between. I like to wear capris and I also have a pair of zip-off pants.

Check accuweather.com and weather.com right before leaving and that will help with your clothes planning, but still bring a variety.

I'm bringing my 4yo in early Dec and my 11yo in late Jan and will be going through the same clothes selection.

Also, what is cold weather to someone who lives in the south could be warm to someone from up north.
