Feb or Mar-When would you go?

We are planning WDW for either late Feb or early March of 2005. Now I need to zero in on when to go. My DH's birthday is feb 15th so it would be nice to go a day or so before for about 10 to 12 days. I also think backing the same number of days on top of the March break would be nice so the kids would get almost 3 weeks off school (ages 5 & 7 so no real homework issues). I am thinking about the weather mostly...is Feb too cold for the pools and water parks? Is early March too hot and crowded in the parks? We went last December for MVMCP and the day time temps were a little chilly for swimming but excellent for line ups. When would you go? Does the temp change that much between that time period? I went once in mid April and was WAY too hot. Tell me what you think...Thanks so much in advance, Suzanne:sunny:

That's a tough one.

We have gone in two straight February's.

First was FEB/03. Weather was great but we ran into President's week and Daytona 500 Celebrations. Crowds were not amazingly bad but it was not what we expected for a mid-winter jaunt to WDW.

Next was FEB/04. Crowds were quite light because it was the week after Daytona/President's week. Of course with the good you get the bad. Weather was chilly and quite rainy for the whole week we were there.

Just goes to show how weather can vary from week to week.

As for FEB/05, we checked the dates. Daytona 500 race is on Feb 20/05, President's week begins Feb 21/05.

And of course in MAR/05 you should expect a lot of families and school groups for March break.

The question I guess would be, do you feel lucky when it comes to the weather?

Hope this helps and good luck,

I would definately avoid Presidents week. We have been the last week of Feb and the first week of March. Weather is about the same for both. Crowds were surprising light the first week of March. I think that week, the Presidents week crowds are gone and march break crowds haven't really gotten fully going.HTH

Thanks so much for your replies! We have never gone at that time and I didn't even realize that President's week was busy. Maybe I should gear towards that first week in March. Anyone know what the temps should be like or where I can find the average temps etc...? thanks:wave2:

I would also pick March for the nicer weather. A friend went last year for Daytona and said Disney was a nightmare.

I would also go for March. I've been there during the last week of Feb. for the past 2 years and the weather wasn't great at all.

I went for president's week in 2003.... the weather was awesome, i was in shorts for most of the day. Crowded, but what I did like was that parks were open later than the usual winter hours.
