Trying to book a wdw trip out of nyc area for mid feb (holiday time...I know) and getting some scary prices. Plenty of seats available just that the airlines are charging quite a bit presently. Anyone know historically when, or if, these fares drop for this holiday time? thanks

Your best bet at this point is to watch for when Southwest opens it's fares. Good Luck!

We're also going in mid-Feb 2004. I had the same problem until I checked Spirit Airlines (spiritair.com). I got a rate of $175 pp round trip from LGA to MCO. Much cheaper than all of the other airlines. You just need to be flexable with your days and times (early morning flights and weekdays are the best). Check it out.

Check Southeast out of Newburgh to Orlando/Sanford.
Was just checking their website yeasterday www.flyseal.com and saw $59 each way for mid February. I've read good things about them on these boards. Do a search on it and check it out. Good luck!

The prices you are seeing for LGA/JFK/EWR are not going to come down. President's week the fares are high. We have flown often during that week, and I always buy at the 331 day window to get the few cheap fares. Your best bet if possible is to leave the Thursday before the holiday and try to come back a few days early.
You might want to try FFL or MIA if you are up for a 4 hours plus ride to WDW. Happy hunting, the longer you wait the more you will pay.

Just checked southeast...great fares and newburg as close to us as lga/jfk. We are going to try them out, thanks!

I am watching and waiting for them to release fares for our April trip. Please post your experience with Southeast when you get back.

We too are having the same problem. I can't believe how high the prices are. Oh well, we are just going to wait it out when Southwest comes out with their fares.
