Feb. air $157 from Pit to MCO, but.....

I use expedia for my travel check price website & thought this was strange: going to Orlando on Delta & returning on AirTran for $157 - the times are not that great, but it's Sat - Sat. I don't know if Delta doesn't fly back from Orlando to Pgh, but there was no returns that were cheap.

But that is how expedia is pricing out these dates - the kicker is the extra $20 fee for booking thru their site.

I usually just check for prices & then to the airline website & book direct & save the $5/ticket fee.

Anyone ever go down on 1 airline & back on a different one - if so any problems?

You may be subject to a more thorough security screening because you have one way tickets on each airline. Just allow extra time for it and you will be fine.

Delta does fly MCO/PIT through Atlanta or Cincinnati. Their fares always seem to be high.

How much is AirTran both ways? I got them for $135 roundtrip for December, nonstop both ways. They have sales on their website pretty often.

Did you try Orbitz?

Cool thing about Orbitz - it shows you seat availability on the airplance.

When I checked USAir for a direct flight into MCO on Sat. & out on Sunday, they wanted $300 for the flight - checked the seat availability

THE PLANE IS EMPTY!!!!

I'm confused - why are they so expensive when they need to make money. OK it's a little more inconvient to change planes put for $600 more, I'll change!

Did you try AirTran both ways? That's how I got my best prices, and both flights are non-stop with several flight times to choose from.

Airtran is close to $300 for the above dates. DId I wait too long to book or do you think prices will come down?
