Hi Everyone! :goodvibes

I'm thinking of adding on 30 or so BCV points through DVC, and I have a Feb. UY on my current BCV contract. If I do the add-on by the end of this month, I should receive 2010 UY points that I can bank for 2011, correct?

If so, I need to hurry and make up my mind before the end of the month!:scared1: Thanks in advance!:goodvibes

Yes, you should get 2010 February UY points if you buy before the end of January 2011. Keep in mind that Disney may have a limited number of BCV points available in some of the UYs. I suggest you talk to your Guide ASAP if you really want to add some points. Good luck!!

Wow- thanks for the quick response! :thumbsup2 I was wondering the same thing about limited inventory- I'd better make up my mind quickly!

You could probably swing a small add-on like that without too much difficulty; sure it is an apples to pomegranate comparison but a month ago I snagged 25 Aug UY points @ VGC after being on the waitlist from late Friday night to mid Saturday morning!

We also have a Feb UY...have done 3 BCV add-on's...never once were the BCV points available when I called to buy them; and never once did I wait more than 3 weeks...waited 3 weeks the first time; 10 days and 5 days the other two times. All were 50-point add-on's--the most recent about 4 months ago.

Don't know if that's predictive of what you'd find, but it's my history at doing something similar to what you're contemplating...

Good luck--

If you don't mind I'd be curious to know how it goes/what deal you get. I'm looking into a 40 point SSR add-on at some point and just need to find the right time to get it. (We want to pay cash for it, so need to have a little extra disposable income handy. :)) Maybe if there's a nice incentive, I'd be able to incent myself to save a little quicker.

Good luck!

As far as I know, the only "incentive" on any add-on to a sold-out resort is that you get current year points along w/a waiver (if needed) of the banking deadline so you can bank them.

For example, were I to buy points (w/my Feb use year) this month, I'd get 2010 points and would be able to bank them into 2011 (I did this w/2 of my 3 add-on's).

There's no discount in the per price cost, though--although I think SSR may still be in active sales (due to Treehouse Villas) and so it's worth asking your guide if an incentive exists for SSR points. Pretty sure there isn't one for BCV (or any sold-out resort), though...

There was a special OKW incentive not too long ago, but other than that I don't think a sold out resort has ever had one, especially a popular resort like BCV! :3dglasses

Just wanted to update- I called my guide today and of course her days off this week are Wed and Thurs! I hope that's not a sign that I shouldn't add-on :scared1: Anyways, I left a message and will hopefully hear back on Fri.

I did just think of another question- what maintenance fees/dues will I need to pay for the add-on? Just 2011? Are they due at closing? That might factor into my decision as to how many points to add- I'm deciding between 25 (minimum) or 31 (to get an extra full night night a year). Thanks! :goodvibes:

Hi,

I actually spoke with my guide today about a BCV add-on for Feb UY. She said that there was a very short waitlist with relatively small amounts, and that it might clear by the end of the month so that 2010 points would be included. You might have a really good shot at it!

Good luck!

Yes, you would only pay 2011 dues. MF's are by calendar year and not UY so you owe the dues based on ownership and not by when you get that UY's points.

So, if you buy on Friday, you will owe MF's for 2011, less the 14 days in January you did not own.

They will then be billed to you. They will show up on the member website once your contract closes. If you set it up for monthly deduct, I believe it starts the month after your contract closes.

And, the last conversation I had with my guide, there are no incentives on any property for less than 100 points.

Good luck!

That's correct; my monthly deductions for the 25 points I added @ VGC in Dec. will start being billed on Feb. 15th; I closed last week. The amounts were adjusted for the $8 I owe for prorated calendar 2010 and only making 11 payments instead of 12... :rolleyes1

Thanks for the feedback! That makes sense about the maintenance fees. Hopefully I'll hear from my guide tomorrow! :goodvibes
