Feb 7 2010 4 Night Bahamas

I hope California warms up nicely for the weekend--I'm heading over to see Mary Poppins and to see the mouse for a day or two.

Okay everyone, are there any more who are considering joining the Fish Extender swap? We'd like to finalize the list soon. Please reply to this thread or send me a pm if you want to join in on the fun.

Not too bad in Southern CA- I'm about 2 hours or so north of DLR, and we're colder in the winter...

I'm heading to DLR MLK weekend for at least a day to get my birthday fix :)

Hey Monica, does Disney mail everyone Luggage Tags? How fun! I'm usually a last minute kinda gal, but I'm thinking I could start packing a bit. With a high of 9 degrees today, I surely don't need any of my shorts, capris or tank tops!

Hi Heather. Just looked and they sent 2 luggage tags per person. I need start getting stuff together to pack also. The way this weather has been I have no idea as what to buy clothes wise for the boys etc. The last few Februarys here have been hot, cross your fingers it warms up!! Tell Noah to email Cameron, he ask me all the time if he has an email from Noah!! lol See you guys soon.:yay:

Noah asked about Cameron recently too. I know the last time we vacationed in Mexico last March, our boys got really attached to some kids and the Activities crew--made it so hard to leave! I have a feeling that might be the case again. What is your cabin number again? Noah is at basketball until 9:30, but I'll have him email tonight or tomorrow after school.

Our cabin assignment appeared online on New Year's day.
Booked cat 12 gty and we got upgraded to a cat 9!
:yay:

Anyone else get upgraded?

We've never been on a Disney Cruise and I never knew Disney did upgrades? How does that work? Was it a fluke? When I booked we picked our cabin number (Deck 2) and that was that. How does upgrading work? Does Disney just do random free upgrades if space is available?

We are booked on a Feb cruise and didn't get a cabin assignment at that time. Where do we look to find out our cabin?

Disney mails out tags to everyone cruising. They are the sticky tags (think of the tags the airlines put on your luggage. They'll have your stateroom number on them so when you get to the port you leave them with the porters (or if you are doing the Disney transfers they'll take care of it) and then your luggage will be delivered to your stateroom.

If you log onto your reservation on DCL's site, it will say your cabin number there. I'm guessing since you didn't get an assignment when you booked, you were booked in a guarantee room. Your reservation will say, for example, category 12 guarantee and then the actual room number will be listed there (and it may be a cat 12 room or it may be an upgrade, but it will still say 12gty even if it is an upgrade). If no room number is listed then your cabin isn't assigned yet.

DCL sometimes gives upgrades, and it seems that they are more common if you book a guarantee room (don't have an assigned room at booking). However, DON'T count on getting an upgrade because you may not get one. We have booked a 12 gty sometimes and ended up with a cat 11 room or a cat 10 room and once a cat 9, but the time we got the 10 it was on deck 1 and it was the WORST room we've ever been in, there was a noise that would go off every few minutes and we actually had to be moved part way through the cruise--a cat 12 room would have been better than our so called upgrade. We have learned our lesson--guarantees can mean possible upgrades, but you have no control over where they put you. We booked a category 9 guarantee this time and we ended up with a cat 9 room. Most people say there is no rhyme or reason to who DCL may upgrade.

UPS just brought our cruise packet w/luggage tags!!!:cool1:

It seems so much more REAL now! I can't believe it is less than a month away. We have SNOW on the ground here in North Alabama and the high temp is only about 22 today :scared1:

I am more than ready for some warmer weather :goodvibes

UPS just dropped ours off too! I also took a shot in the dark and called DCL to see if they would upgrade our cabin...no such luck. It is completely random and there is no rhyme or reason to it

We booked through DU, also. I really didn't expect these for a couple of weeks.

Me--turning 40 on the Wonder!!

DS 3

No tags here.....we booked directly with DCL. When should I expect them? Our first cruise and I worry about everything!!

Hey... Look at whats happening on our cruise date!!!!

Date: Feb. 7 +
Mission: STS-130
Launch Vehicle: Space Shuttle Endeavour
Launch Site: Kennedy Space Center - Launch Pad 39A
Launch Time: 4:39 a.m. EST
Description: Space shuttle Endeavour will deliver the final connecting node, Tranquility Node 3, and the Cupola, a robotic control station with six windows around its sides and another in the center that provides a 360-degree view around the International Space Station.

i thought that was pretty early myself, but per NASA thats what it says. I have lived in Florida my entire life & dont recall a launch being that early. If so i never paid much attention!! We have seen lots of launches but anyone that has never seen one its a pretty neat experience, the kids love it!

For those curious about tags/paperwork:

Go to http://wwwapps.ups.com/WebTracking/reference . For "Shipment reference" enter your DCL reservation number. I put the range as 12/31/09 - 1/31/10. For destination postal/zip code I had been putting in the zip code for DU, but as it turns out I put in my own and that worked instead. Should show up Monday here!
