Feb 6 2010 7 Night Western

I think the meet sounds like fun!!

Some questions about that day...

We plan to be at the port by 10:30 so we can board early and start our vacation! I am trying to figure out some timing though as I don't want to try and cram too much in - we have an early dinner seating, too!

Assuming we are on the ship by noon, we'll grab a bite for lunch. What time does the safety drill start? The sail away party?

Also, can you dine outside for dinner at Topsiders? I thought that might be a nice change once we have done our first dining rotation.

Okay I made this ....

DIStag.jpg

Use it if you like - but it would make it easer to identify
who is from the DIS at this meet - since I'm sure other
passengers will be in the same area.

Print it out and stick it on - Or staple :eek:OUCH!

FYI - heard Lime was a DIS color
that's why I used it.
:flower3:

all my FE gifts are ordered

hopefully no one else joins cause I will have to come up with something else for them LoL.

3 weeks away!! WE CAN'T WAIT!!!

Im the same about the Fish extender gifts, I have all that I need for now but if anyone joins before Monday I will have to give them something totally different which I have no idea what it would be yet :scared1:

The Life boat drill usually starts around 4pm (although they like for you to get there earlier...they will announce about it 20 minutes or so prior to the actual drill and they will give you plenty of time to get to your room to get the life vest and head out)

The Sail away party starts as soon as the life boat drill is over with...we usually drop our life vests off in room and head straight up to deck 10 to start the party.

Im not sure about dining outside at topsiders...When we have gone during dinner they sit us at tables and it isnt a buffet like I thought it would be (like during lunch). You still have a limited menu. Not sure about sitting outside though as I didnt see anyone out there for dinner :confused3

WallyB...Love the design and idea. Now I have to go and find some sticker sheets to print that up on...cause for some reason the staple idea just doesn't feel too good LOL!!

I'd like to print one out and staple it over your face.

Now Children...behave! :lmao: Better straighten up before we all make you guys hug and kiss and makeup!:grouphug::rotfl:

Thanks! It sounds like the kids will have a chance to have a quick swim after lunch and before the drill.

Good to know about Topsiders dinner. If there isn't anything particularly special, we may not bother... we'll see.

you two are hilarious!! :lmao::thumbsup2

What are we going to do with the both of ya? popcorn::

We also are currently trying for a second baby. Well I was pregnant (the baby would have been born in August of the this year) but just recently lost the baby at only 5 weeks along :( our first lost which was devastating. The bad part is that it was so easy for us to get pregnant the first time with our son, and we had no issues what so ever with that pregnancy over 4 years ago.So we are hoping for a second child and praying that things will work out. I know that in time things will work out somehow.

So sorry to hear this Shauna, I have been through this myself and it's not easy...

:sad1:

We are gonna miss the shuttle launch by one day! It is scheduled to launch on the 7th......

We weren't planning to do KSC on this trip, but now I am tempted because maybe we could see it on the launch pad if we went on the 5th?

It just doesn't seem worth it to try and cram it in since we won't get in until noon and I think they close at 5:30...

Getting very excited here!!! :banana::banana:

I have all of Samantha's clothes chosen and I started to put together her carry on. I also set aside all of my clothes but haven't started to pack anything yet.

Just got my custom FE. It is BEAUTIFUL but I didn't realize the pockets were so small! :lmao: So, I may have to deliver on a second day because they may not all fit the first day... assuming other people's pockets will be around the same size.

Does anyone else get that dreaded feeling like you are forgetting to do something MAJOR?! Ugh - I always get that before we go on vacation.

I am hoping the next 3 weeks pass quickly.. Sam's b-day is this weekend and I am redecorating her room so hopefully it will help pass the time!

Mine will be coming at the last minute... the lady I ordered it from is on a cruise herself right now, and said she'd make it when she got back.

I too am worried about pocket size, but I figure, why stress over these things? I am going on the assumption that at least one of the things I'm bringing is too big/heavy for the pockets, so I'll probably bring some small inexpensive gift bags and hang them from the fish.

As for forgetting something major, we realized right after Christmas that my hubby's passport had expired. I don't know how we lost track of the day, but we did. Oops! I know they say you can travel without them, but he wanted to have one anyway, in case he needed to travel for work, so we went ahead and took care of it. We paid the extra money to have it expedited and WOW they were fast -- mailed it out on a Monday and received it on Friday!

Hopefully that's the only major thing we are forgetting...

I can't believe some of you already have clothes out and all! I used to be that way but I am sure I'll be packing late the night before we leave!

We haven't done that yet, either, but will probably start soon... I need to make sure last summer's clothes still fit all my kids! I picked them up some $2.50 flip-flops at Old Navy yesterday, so at least they have something new. I still need to get my son to try on his tux; I have a feeling it's going to need some alterations...

Still debating on whether to buy a pack of packing cubes -- I really want to try them, but to buy them for all of us would get really expensive, especially since I just bought five new suitcases!

Please add us to the FE list

Jenn (Me) and Jay (DH) - JennL
#6130 (which I need to tripple check as we were upgraded and the new number is new)

We will take 8 February.

Looking forward to warm weather and am starting packing this weekend! Time to find the swimsuits, suncreen, and shorts. It has been a very long winter.

Oh yes it has; you guys were hit really hard! We got hit with one of those when we lived in Fredericksburg in Jan 96, it was unbelievable! They didn't plow our street for FIVE days... Has most of your snow melted?

WallyB...Love the design and idea. Now I have to go and find some sticker sheets to print that up on...cause for some reason the staple idea just doesn't feel too good LOL!!

Yes, thanks WallyB, great idea!

I'm thinking of trying to print them landyard-pocket size, that way I can stick it right in there and could keep it there for the whole cruise if I wanted to. :)

We are on early dining, so if all goes well with the safety drill and sail-away, we would love to meet up on Deck 10! I'm not going to stress about how we are dressed for that first night, since I've heard some people don't even have their bags by then so it's not a huge deal. But we'll probably want to leave ourselves a few minutes to run back to our room to freshen up... can't wait to meet everyone!

A little about us... we both grew up in New England (MA & CT) and met in college, have been married for 15 years. Hubby was active duty Marines and is now in the reserves and working a corporate job. I've been a stay-at-home mom since we had our first daughter in '98, and I love it. Life keeps us busy -- the kids are all involved in activities, we love to do fun things as a family and also with friends, and this year we finally got season tickets to the New England Patriots! We are also big Red Sox and UConn Husky fans. Never a dull moment around here... We also have a siberian husky who will be 15 in May -- she has some health issues, but is doing very well for her age. We lost our other dog last March, one month shy of 15... So that's us in a nutshell!

You can always spot our family if you see our little redhead...
