Feb 4, 2007 Wonder cruise

Actually, I would rent a car.

Budget is at the Doubletree by downtown Disney. If I were staying at WDW thats exactly what Id do. Leave early enough to return the car to Budget at PC, and jump on their shuttle to the terminal.

On the way out... same thing.. in reverse. We have a Expedition size SUV reserved for less than the cost of transfers, we choose our times and stop where we need to....

The way I describe it is......

Disney has a great way of seperating you from your money.

Once you get your head wrapped around the idea that its OK to spend $45 on a $4 T-shirt.... everything else is downhill.

Thats the rear reason for charging on a KTTW card... hard for you to keep track of... until you get the bill!
so true! everywhere else we watch our $ ...but at Disney... where is the smilie that shows the $ just flying out of your pockets... :rolleyes1
Yeah, I've had that surprise under our door a time or two...esp. w/the on shore excursions...the gratuities...and shopping onboard :cloud9: I tend to get a bit carried away... but it's so much fun!!! I can't wait to see the Wonder  compare the differences :woohoo: I can't wait!!!

jblb1020..I agree...I'd rent a car!

We always use Tiffany Towncar and get a stretch limo for the ride to and from the port. Since there are 4 in my family it's not much more than the DCL transfers and it's such a fun way to start and end the cruise. :)

Wow those are great times for Brunch! I'm a bit upset because we haven't made our final payment yet because DS18's college tuition for the Spring semester is also due this month, so we won't be paying the final payment until the end of November (the 21s), so I can't book anything yet!! :faint:
FYI for anyone who has not yet made their final payment and are paying directly to Disney: we sent in our final payment per our most recent payment confirmation (we've been paying the whole thing by check) and when our final payment confirmation came it showed that we still owed $2.04! Apparently the tax amount went up between our next to last and last payments. So, if you are paying by check or by mail, make sure you call first to be sure you have the exact final balance.

well...we made our final payment... to the penny ;)...thanks for the heads up Jrsy Boy :) and we finally made our adr's for brunch and dinner at Palo :woohoo: :cheer2: :woohoo: !! I had no problems getting the first choice I entered so there's still hope for those who haven't been able to do so quite yet. Just thought I'd share. I was getting nervous thinking I'd have to rush and make them onboard :rolleyes1 us overplanners sometime :teeth:

I can't believe that Thanksgiving is almost here. I actually started decorating for Christmas over the weekend but the quicker Christmas comes the sooner we all will be on the Disney Wonder!! Not that I'm trying to rush Christmas because I love the Holidays but it's always nice to have something to look forward to after Christmas is over. I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving! :mickeyjum

I know what you mean. I don't want to wish the holidays away either...but it will be SO nice knowing our cruise is just around the corner :woohoo:

Have a great Thanksgiving everybody!! :wave2:

Well I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving! It was raining here in NJ but the rest of the week was nice! We are suppose to have some warmer weather this week in the 60's! Well we are that much closer to our Wonder cruise! I think the countdown is around 67 days!!

Thanksgiving was wonderful...we all ate too much as usual :rolleyes1 The weather has been great but not for much longer here. The snow is on its way. We have all the decorating all done and ready for Christmas :cheer2: I hate to admit, I can't wait to celebrate and put it all back away...b/c that will mean we're REALLY close to vacation time :woohoo: I want to start getting our goodies out and ready...those little things you take every time... but I have at least another month before I start thinking about that  Hmmm maybe some gifts in our stateroom waiting? Ahhhh I can't take it!!! I can't wait  I told Mike after spending all of black Friday decorating that next year we should just go on the cruise or wdw combo instead...he looked at me and says...."we'll see" :cheer2: Whoo hoo...that wasn't a "no" :woohoo: I get excited over disney way too easy

Hi everyone :)

I just wanted to let you know that we had to cancel this cruise. I know you all will have a WONDERFUL time, and I'll be thinking of you while you're cruising! :sunny:

We are taking our first cruise on the Feb 4th Wonder. We are in need of anyone with tips on cruising with two small kids, Daniel 5 and Adam 2 (3 on 2/19). We have only heard the best about DCL and absolutely loved our WDW trip in 2005. Please pass on any tips.

Nervous about flying from Atlantic City NJ in February.

Hello! We are also on the Wonder Feb 4th. My son is 6 and my daughter is 3. We will be leaving out of Atlantic City too! We are leaving on the 3rd just in case of the weather. We will be staying at the Wilderness Lodge the night before the cruise. You are going to have a wonderful time! What day will you be leaving out of A.C.?

We leave on Sunday am around 7:30a I believe. I tried to switch to the 3rd but they wanted to charge an extra $750 to switch dates. My airfare was only $540....CRAZY. Hopefully weather is good. My fingers are crossed. I may try to come up with something.

We are very excited. We are keeping it a secret from the kids and will surprise they that morning. My husband has never been on a cruise so I thought this was the perfect one for the family.

Can't wait....any tips for family cruising?

Guess I should jump in. Being a lifelong Floridian, I'm not a Disney newbie, but am to a Disney Cruise. I didn't know I could get so excited!

Dh and I are traveling with daughters (14 & 11) and son (4) who will be almost 5 (on 2/14). Any suggestions on how to celebrate his b-day onboard? We will also have extended family along.

Also, since many of you are repeat cruisers, I have a ?....I'd prefer to keep my girls together in the club areas, but they fall into different age categories. Can they cross between kids areas? My travel agent wasn't very helpful.

Thanks! :surfweb:

They will let the older daughter stay with the younger, but not the other way around. Its a one timie thing, they wont let her go back and forth through the age groups.

If your 11 year old wants an instant friend, my 11 year old daughter can email (I monitor it) so they know who they are before she boards.

Hey there byejou :wave2:
were going to celebrate my ds Kenny's 6th birthday. His b/d is also 2/19 :cool1: Daniel and Adam will have the time of their lives! this will be our 5th time on dcl and I can't imagine cruising w/any other line. It is so incredible :cloud9: !! I haven't told Kenny that we're going. I'm trying my best to make it a secret. that is so hard!! Good luck w/your flight :)

SeaSpray :guilty: so sorry you had to cancel your cruise!

Christy330 another birthday boy :woohoo: !! I was due on 2/14 but...you know how that goes;) I'm thinking of purchasing the birthday decor that they put in your stateroom but haven't decided quite yet. I'm sure our wait staff will make it very magical. they always do such a great job. my ds is an only child but I do believe you can let your dd14 check herself out if you'd wish. That might make it easier for her. I'm w/you there are a lot of ta's that aren't up on everything. even when they claim to know alot about disney and the dcl.

I was also going to ask them to decorate for sons birthday but I was afraid the oldest would be jealous. Still thinking about it. I think it would be awesome to see his eyes when we get in our room and it was decorated. There are the reason we do Disney, plus I love it too. We did celebrate my oldest's 4th bday in WDW in 2005.

Has anyone use Flounders Daycare? The youngest will be not be exactly 3 on the trip so we have to utilize the childcare center (only a few days between). Hope he will have fun and be with children his age. That sort of cuts us back on adult time together since there is a fee and it is all scheduled in advance. Hopefully they will have last minute drop-ins. We did book a late night for ourselves to go to the club. I sound like I'm a young 20's again, club, HAHA. It's been a loooong time since I been dancing. :woohoo:

How about 2nd seating for dinner with the small kids. I am on a wait list for 1st but no guarantees.

byejou, Flounders was the first time I ever left Kenny alone w/anyone that wasn't family. it was his first cruise when he was 18 months old. It was fantastic. we had an onshore excursion to swim w/stingrays. it was very smooth. They were so good w/him. he is an only child so I was worried but he did great playing w/the other kids. watching movies, playing w/toys. They do have times you can go in there w/them to play. That might be good to introduce it to him. we didn't have any problems w/times or anything. This will be the first time we actually got to reserve first seating. The first few cruises it was late for him. He'd fall asleep sometimes.... its just too late for the little ones imho. Last time we just talked to our head server about it and he said he'd switch us on a nightly basis. if they had the room, he would let us. We were able to all but two out of 7 nights. Plus you can always go to topsiders anytime you want. so that is another option. Its not as nice...but still pretty good.

Thanks. I woory about leaving him with strangers. My oldest is 5 so he will be in the kids program and I probably will never be able to pull him away. We did schedule excursions and childcare together and a nice dinner at Palo on Wed.

CAN"T WAIT
