Feb 4, 2007 Wonder cruise

Hi All-
Hopefully I am not the thread killer on this thread as I have been on the other two or three related to this cruise. The three of us (myself, DW & DS10 at time of sailing) will be doing this 4-day as the second half of our second land/sea.

Billinaz-my DS, though close in age to your kids, has never expressed any interest in email but I'll ask if he'd want to correspond if that offer is still on the table.

And, just to prove I belong, here is my NJ connection (aside from my screen name): born and raised in Somerville, went to college in NYC. Love LBI and usually stay at The Sea Spray...how's that for six degrees of separation?

Sure thing. I set the kids up with a special email address just for the cruise.

They just cannot mention anything about being on the Feb 4 cruise, the kids only think they are going on the Feb 1 cruise...

Wow Bill, what a great surprise! "Hey kids, don't pack, we're not getting off the ship yet, we're going on another cruise!" :woohoo: :yay: Make sure you have the camera ready to capture their expressions! :smooth:

I would think they were wise to my antics by now.

In 2005 we did a land/sea. We told the kids we could visit the Wonder but could not get on.

As we pulled away from the GF I couldnt take it any more and told them we were actually not going to the airport, but going on the cruise.

NOT ONE KID BELIEVED ME !!! Until we got onboard anyway.....

Bill, you're setting a precedence here; after this your kids will begin to always expect an extra surprise when you go on vacation :teeth:

Actually, I have a little surprise for my kids for our trip next month, too. After the cruise we're staying at the Polynesian. We were booked in a regular garden view room but they don't know that we've upgraded to a lagoon concierge room. We stayed in a lagoon concierge room last summer and they LOVED it, so they'll be really happy to stay there again :sunny:

I don't know if this is going to work, then. We are on the Feb 4 and your kids don't know they are on the Feb 4 so they might be suspicious about corresponding with a kid who isn't even on the same cruise they are. Any idea about how to handle that?

yeah, I have an idea. LOL

Bill can tell HIS kids that YOUR kids are being surprised and don't know that they're going on the Feb. 1st cruise. Pretend that it's YOUR kids (Jrsy Boy's) who are going on a back to back, and not Bill's kids. :teeth:

Not sure how it'd work, but it's the best I could come up with! :upsidedow

P.S. Or, Jrsy Boy, just tell your kids about the surprise for Bill's kids, and to pretend they're going on the Feb 1st cruise. How old are these kids anyway? Would they be good at keeping a surprise?? :scratchin

How about just say they are going on a cruise in Feb but leave out the dates???

DS is thinking about it. I mentioned that we'd be cruising around the same time, but didn't say on the same cruise. We'll just have to skirt the whole "instant onboard playmates" idea until the very last minute. That is, of course, assuming that he decides he wants to email. I'll let you know.

Ok everyone here at the office thinks I'm crazy because I am listening to radio disney! I just can't wait to go back! It is over 100 degrees here in NJ and that makes me look forward to the Fall. This is just too hot for me! Well just thought I would say hello!! :tinker: :mickeyjum :donald: :tigger: :goofy: pooh: :eeyore:

We're going on the August 19th "Special Western", with 2 stops at Castaway Cay!! :sunny:

Ok well this week I officially booked my reservation with Disney Vacation Club for the Disney Wonder. There is no turning back now!! I had booked my stay after the cruise at the Villa's at the Wilderness Lodge but was waiting for the airfare before I booked the cruise. Well I got tired of waiting and just did it! I really want to go out of Atlantic City on Spirit but right now the return flight is too much money. Atlantic City Airport is 30 min away and very convienent for us. I could get a cheaper flight right now out of Philadelphia but I'm holding out to see if Spirit goes downa bit. THE PRESSURE! :confused3 Anyway I hope everyone is enjoying their last weeks of summer.

CONGRATS on booking!!! :sunny:  :woohoo: :yay:

I'll be booking this cruise in a few days while we're on the DISNEY MAGIC!!! In two days we fly to Florida. We'll be staying at the Radisson right near Port Canaveral, then boarding the DISNEY MAGIC this Saturday!!!! I can't wait!! :hourglass

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer, too!!! :sunny:

Hi All. We are going to be on the Feb 4th cruise too! We are two couples (dh's are brothers) Between us there are 3 girls, aged 5, 7 and 12 and one boy, aged 7. My oldest girl would possibly like to communicate in advance. The kids will not know about the trip until Christmas, though! We are doing 6 nights in Orlando first. We have already booked the P and P Party as well as the Cinderella Breakfast! I will follow this thread and keep up with who we'll be cruising with.

Our girls will be 11 and 8 on the cruise so that would be great if you want to get them emailing in advance. Our boy will be 9.....

The girls loved Cindys breakfast!

Hi Billinaz. After Christmas, when the kids know about the trip, we will do the email thing!

Hello Everyone!! I booked my airfare today!! I am very excited!! Friends of mine are leaving on the Magic on Saturday and I am so jealous!!!
