Feb 29, 2016...Leap Day Crowds

I've been reading people expecting big crowds on Leap Day....what's the reasoning?

It's a Monday and not a holiday, so unless there is another 24 hour day or some other special event, I don't think I'd expect anything out of the ordinary.

As the PPs have said, last time there was a leap day, they did a special 24-hour event on both costs (MK and DL). Since then, the 24-hour day has moved to the Friday of Memorial Day weekend (2013, 2014, and 2015). Both resorts have had the 24-hour day on the same day. At this point, DLR's SoCal/SoCal Select AP blockout calendar does not have any usual blockout on 2/29/16, but it does blockout the Friday of Memorial Day weekend (5/27/16). So, while the two resorts could opt to have their 24-hour days on different days, I'd be inclined to say it's more likely that both resorts will continue to use the 24-hour day as their kick-off to the summer. That being said, wouldn't it be awesome if they had two 24-hour days in 2016?

I also think Leap Day is just a weird day-- its rare, kindof a "holiday" and people may want to go crazy, be somewhere fun. If I was a local I can see it being something I'd do-- let's go to Disney World! Who knows. We're going to WDW the week before, so I also saw the 2/29 high crowds as we were figuring out when to go...
