Feb 28, 2013 Dream...Anybody Else Going?

Welcome.
I just booked today too.
Glad I am not the only newbie here now.:thumbsup2

Kathy

Did you book under the FL Resident special? There is a large group who is coming and one more family wanted to add on. They called at 3 PM today and no more FL Resident for this special. Boo! They were told to try again at midnight tonight. Hope they get on!

I just booked a room on the Feb 28th cruise for my 6 year old twins and me. Any single parents, by chance? :) Looking for a "date" to Palo one night - I think I'd feel totally weird going there alone. But, I'd really miss that food!

Went on a Disney cruise about 10 years ago with an old friend, long before kids for me, and had a great time. Can't wait to see how much fun it is going to be with them!

WELCOME! You should find our Fish Extender page (link is on the first page of this thread) and join. Your twins would love it!!! We did the Dream in 2011. Looking forward to going back!

Yes we did.:thumbsup2
Keep watching for those discounts. We have seen them come and go so there is still a chance they will pop up again. But they go fast . We usually look 2 or 3 times a day when we are watching for them.

Hope it works for your friends!!

Kathy

Even when Disneys site is all out sometimes you can still find Florida resident rates on other sites.
Check www.*************.com or www.cheapcruises.com
There is one more that I cant think of right now? But they show Florida resident rates too. I have used ************* before, they are a good TA.

Disney sells them a specific amount of rooms and even when Disney is out these may have a few left. Its worth checking out a couple times a day.

I cant believe it wont let me print out the name of this travel place? Well my e-mail is at the bottom of my post. Send me and e-mail and I will send you the web site for it. put Disne on the subject line so I wont delete you,

Thanks for your sweet offer to help. I emailed you. :)

We will decorate our door, somewhat. The magnets are packed in our cruise "stuff".

We don't go all out on pirate night, but DD seems to fall asleep before the fireworks.

We're going to be on this cruise as well ... our first cruise ever! Me, DD13, DS5 + my mom :goodvibes

Is anyone doing any excursions in Nassau?

I've done a few of them but this time we thought we would just walk around the Straw Market and my son has never been through the Pirate museum so we may do that too.

Sounds like you are a veteran :) Are there any excursions you'd recommend in Nassau?

We're signed up for the Forts & Junkanoo just to get a little island history in, but I haven't been able to find any reviews of that excursion. I'm open to suggestions if there's a better one. Thanks!

Welcome aboard!!!

May I ask you your name? I am Kathy.
First cruise!! WOW you guys picked the right crusie line ot have an awesome time. Sorry we havnt done the excursion your booked on. I have seen both forts . One is pretty complete the other still has enough left to go see it but not alot left after all the years. I like Queen Anne's staircase and that history. Is that on your tour too?

The pirate museum has a ton of the history of the Pirates in the area. You can do it on your own either before or after your excursion if you want. Its behind the straw market (2 blocks). You cant miss it, its a large purple building. This link will tell you all about it.

It only takes about an hour to go through it. Its been 6 or 7 years since we have been in it so I do not know the price. Since you have a 5 year old I will warn you the first area you enter is dark. Its a night scene at a wharf but after that it does stay light. Out back are stockades to take your picture.

i also like the aquariun at Atlantis and I dont care about aquariums but this one is pretty good. The tour goes fast but you can walk back through on your own at your own speed afterwards. Just show your wrist band. If you go there eat good before you go they are extremely expensive to eat there.

We are doing a FE which means Fish Extender. It is an inexpensive gift exchange among all those here who want to participate. You can make your own FE which is a couple of pockets that hang up on a fish or sea horse by your cabin door.
Here is mine.

People leave a gift in it during the cruise and in return you leave a gift in their extenders. It can be something homemade or store bought. We have received things like Disney themed book marks, coasters, post cards, stickers, mini photo albums, CD of Disney music, candy, pirate eye patches, disney pens or pencils and much more. So you can see it can be just about anything you would like to give.

Here are instructions to make one even if you dont sew.

If you would like to join in the fun let us know and we will get you set up.

I am off to Disney world this morning.
I will post more when I return,

Kathy

We will be on this cruise. This time it will just be me and my husband, no kids. We are taking this cruise for our anniversary and we are excited!! We are looking forward to trying out some of the adult things this time. My kids don't like going to the clubs so on our past cruises we haven't been able to do any of that. I am really looking forward to Palo!!

WELCOME!!!

You'll love the adult areas.

I am Kathy. Whats your name?

Thanks, Kathy! I'm Rachel.

The Queen's Staircase is part of our excursion, plus both forts and the Junkanoo museum. I was thinking about going to the Pirates museum ... good to know it would be worthwhile. We'll have to see how DS is on the trip. Sometimes he likes pirates and sometimes he's scared of them. :rolleyes1 He really liked POTC at WDW, but he had to hold on to me the whole time. DD loves pirates, though, so maybe she and I can do it while my mom takes DS somewhere else.

I've been reading about the Fish Extenders ... thanks for the info. It sounds like fun! How many people usually sign up for that per cruise? I have this vision of spending our entire first day just wandering the ship to find everyone's stateroom. :rotfl:

Hi Rachel,
I have a DD named Rachel. Spelled the same way too.

I think with this smaller group the list looks like about 95% have signed up. I am new here and dont know everyones names yet to know for sure if everyone has signed up but it has to be close ot everyone.

It is a very popular event.:goodvibes The link to the FE list is on the first page where you found the link to this cruise it is right under that link. If you look at it you will know for sure how many.

I think we are at 8 cabins right now for the FE. Signs up will go until February 1st. When we were on our last cruise, I think we had 20 or 25 cabins. It took us about 45 minutes to deliver. Honestly, though, the ship is so fun to explore...it wasn't a problem. We did it between dinner and the show. My kids were 3 and 5 at the time and did fine delivering with us. :) Please do join us. It will be great fun! Here is another link that shows some ideas of things people have done:

I like this link b/c it gives some great photos and ideas. You can be creative or do something store bought.
