Feb 28, 2013 Dream...Anybody Else Going?

Hello everyone! Crazy snow here, but not a huge deal for us. It did make all my weekend plans get turned upside down.

Looking forward to sunshine and warmth, though!

I am happy you still have power.

I am getting ready to watch the Fantasy pull out in a few minutes.:goodvibes
I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far.

Kathy

Good morning everyone,

I hope those who have snow are getting all shoveled out so you're not stuck in the house.:thumbsup2 I have seen some pictures on TV and on FB that really looked bad.

We are heading for 80 degrees again today. Wish I could send you some of our warmth.:goodvibes

I am excited to watch the Dream pull out tonight on the web cam.

Plus I am hoping by the weekend we will have our room numbers assigned. I check everyday with no luck. I know they say 10 to 14 days prior to the cruise which is next weekend!!!:cool1:

Just watched Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Disney sail away. I was just about to give up on Disney. They left a little late today.

Do you know if you will be able to look at old video from the webcam? Could we see ourselves sailing away after we get back?

I hope you get your room assignment soon!

This will be our 3rd cruise that stopped in Nassau. Normally we just go to the market and head back to the ship. The kids like to do the Aquaduck. We were thinking that this time since we don't have the kids that we would go see Queen's Staircase. Has anyone here done that? Did you walk on your own and if so did you feel safe? I would like to walk on our own but concerned about safety. It looks like about a mile walk

Yes you can go back and watch yourself. It is a bit tricky to find the videos but under the archives sections (bottom of the page) then I think you click on Disney, then all 4 ships names appear, click on the Dream and then the date.
I have looked back at myself the last 2 cruises.:goodvibes

It seems to me it took a few days for it to show up on one of them but eventually it was there.

I always stand on deck 11 closer to the front than midship with my white Mickey ahnd waving at people. That makes it easier to spot myself on the video.:thumbsup2

I was getting bored waiting foe them to pull out too.
By next weekend we should have our room number!!

I have been to Queen Anne's staircase and the Fort at the top of the Stairs, but it was on a tour. Never walked to it.
I have read of those who have walked and they say its not far.

After being to Nassau several times personally I wouldnt walk anywhere on my own out of the shopping areas. I would grab a taxi if I wanted to go or go in a larger group than 2 people.
But that is just me.

They have really cleaned up the port area compared to how it use to be but I dont know about other areas.

We may walk to the Pirate Museum. Its just a couple blocks behind the straw market and to the right a block. My son has never seen it and I know he would love the weapons at the end of the museum building.

I went to the Straw Market last month when we were there. I got 2 wooden carvings, total of $45 and it stated at $80. They do like to dicker for prices in there!!

My husband loves to dicker with them for prices but I dont. So if I want something I show him and let him take over while I look at something else.:lmao:

That looks like a nice walking tour. I recognise a few buildings we saw on the Horse and carriage ride and also on a historical tour we did one year.

I am almost done with my FE gifts.:woohoo: Maybe another hours work, then to assemble them and I am done!! I hope to finish up tomorrow.;)

Oh that is great! I didn't know about the webcam when we took previous cruises.

Not much longer :)

You can even buy copies of the video on that site but I have never done it.

Last November we were on it for 33 seconds, last month about 5 seconds.

Also after the ship is around the corner you can go to www.twopalms.com and in 3 to 5 minutes you can watch the ship go out to sea.
Of course its farther out so you cant see the people.

On that site it does click photos of the ships as they go by and you can bring those uo to see them.

Just a quick reminder if you can make it we are going to meet up the first afternoon around 3 p.m. in the Vista Cafe , deck 4 midship to meet face to face.
That way you may recognise each other around the ship and kids can meet up too before going to the clubs. Sometimes its nice for them to see a familiar face in there.

Hope everyone can make it for a few minutes to say hello. Then run off to have a Magical cruise!!!

Good morning everyone,

Today I will finish up my FE gifts. YEAH!!!!

This cruise will be here before we know it so I figured I had better get busy the last few days.;)

So far the extended weather forecast looks good for our entire cruise.

I sure hope it stays that way.

Last month it was cool on our 3 day cruise. But even if it's cool I know I will have an awesome time!!! How can you not have an awesome time while on a Disney cruise:flower3:

Waiting impatiently for my room number this week. Hoping by the weekend I will have it.

Kathy

We are getting so excited. Only 15 days til we leave (since we are driving). Can't wait!!!!!!! :)

We are SUPER excited! I'm waiting on one more piece to do my FE. It's been on backorder...but was finally shipped on Saturday. Once it's here, I'll be in full crafting mode. Well, after V'day b/c I do lots of crafts for the kids' teachers and classmates for V'Day. Oh, my...when will I have time to pack?? :confused3 I can't wait and I'm hoping for gorgeous weather. It's almost 80 here today and just beautiful!!!

We have rain and 50s yesterday, today, and tomorrow! Blah! We are ready for some sunshine!!!!!!

Thanks for the advice! We thought about doing the tour through Disney but really want to do it own our own. We may do a taxi there. Do taxis hang out around that area (Queen's Staircase/fort). I know it won't be problem getting one to go but just want to make sure there will be one to pick us up after we are done touring those things.

We have bought those wooden carvings on previous cruises. It is fun haggling with them!

Hi! Just another cruiser for the 28th! I wanted to stop by and say HI :) This will be our 2 time on the Dream! Myself, DH, DD1(2.5 yr old) and DD2(6months ) :)

Does anyone have any youngins under 3? that will/or not be using nursery?!

My name is Kathy, what is your name?

Hope you will drop by the meet and say hello. If there are other young kids perhaps they can meet up there.

Kathy

Its the first day in the Vista Cafe, deck 4 mid ship about 3 p.m.

I dont remember seeing cabs at the bottom of the stair case but at the top is a fort and I have seen cabs there.
I'm sure if you wernt going to stay really long you could ask your cab driver to meet you at the top of the stairs. Of course he will charge you for the mileage. Not far to drive for him.

The shopping guide person on board should be able to answer questions about where cabs are readily available.
They are vans so can hold several people at once. I dont think you will have any problems finding one to bring you back.

Kathy

Hi,

Does anyone want to share a transfer to MCO on March 3, 2013? There are 2 adults and 1 child.
Thanks,
Michele:cool1::drive:

Hi Michele,
glad you found us ok from Cruise Critic. :goodvibes

We have a meet the first day, hope you will stop by and say hello.
Vista Cafe / deck 4 midship
3 P.M.

Its fun to meet face to face and you will be surprized how many you will recognise the rest of the trip around the ship. It also gives kids a chance to meet others so they have a familiar face in the clubs.:goodvibes
