Just wondering if anyone knows why the hotel rates are so high for this week? Many hotels sold out too. I thought it was a good week to visit DL based on crowd calendars. Wondering if we should skip it due to the construction and it could be really crowded based on hotel rates.

Hotel rates and availability seems pretty normal to me for only one month out.

This is like the third post I have seen in as many days of someone surprised at hotel availability for Feb or March. I don't think this is new - while this is still seen perhaps as the "off season" it is certainly not the book last minute season. We are going from March 2 - 10th and we booked in June of last year. I think last minute deals are few and far between now.

Low season/off season at DLR does not seem to mean low crowd season anymore. Crowd calendars/predictors don't really work for DLR either, especially since the 60th. Low season/off season = refurb and shorter hours season, not no crowds. Low crowd times do happen, but they aren't as frequent or predictable as they used to be.

We are going that week and when we booked many months back I would say hotel rates were average for the time of year. I compared rates for late March (right during busy spring break season) and it was definitely cheaper for the February dates. It’s normal for rates to jump up like they have a month out compared to 6-9 months out though.
I did see that getawaytoday still has some decent rates for the motels across the street if you’re staying 3+ nights. So I would recommend checking there and see if anything fits your budget.
