YES! I'm soooo happy to see Feb. on all my emails...lol :rotfl:

Now to just get DD9 feeling better. She had to miss school today...1st day this year. I was hoping that the 24th and 25th would be her only days but I guess not. Ahhhh well.

We leave for WDW in 20 days! The whole family is very excited - especially since the fourth big snowstorm in two weeks started last night (with another expected tomorrow).

I'm really looking forward to the FEs but, since this will be my first cruise, I have a few questions.

First, do people generally use cards or some other way of indicating who the gifts are from? It would be nice to know who to thank but at the same time I can see the appeal of an anonymous secret-santa-esque exchange.

Also, we got different gifts for the adults vs. the children (not sure what to do with the older teens - may give them one of each). The gifts for the kids may be too large for some FEs (but not so big that they won't be easy to pack). Any suggestions of what to do if they don't fit?

Finally, were spending three night at BLT before the cruise and then returning to WDW (Boardwalk) afterwards. I'm thinking of using a private car service instead of the DCL transportation since I'd like to arrive right at 12:00 (hopefully avoiding a long wait in the terminal but getting there before the huge crowds from the busses). We're planning to use FL Tours and I'm wondering if anyone would like to split the ride - especially another family with children since DD (3) and DS (6) would love to make some new friends. If anyone is interested, let me know.

See you all very soon! Now it's off to work through the blinding snow!

OK so I can answer the first two questions....

1- Some leave cards or tags on bags to identify themselves whereas others don't say whom they are. :goodvibes

2- We've received some gifts too big to fit our FE so they just sat them by our cabin door directly under our FE. Probably not to safe but so far we've been lucky. The only other thing I can think of is maybe having it delivered from guest services...not sure how they'd feel about this though. :goodvibes

As for item 3....we will arrive in FL at 10:30 so not one of the lucky ones staying at a resort before hand.

Just some info for all who will be travelling to port on Feb 24th.

There is a space shuttle launch scheduled for 4:50 that day which means traffic will be heavy for a good portion of the day from Orlando. Just so you all are aware of this before-hand.

If the launch doesn't get scrubbed it will be amazing to watch it from the deck of the Dream, as Kennedy Space Centre can be seen in the far distance from port.

Cross your fingers!!

Pray that they get us there by 2pm at the latest. We will be getting off the train by 1030 headed that way immediately. :goodvibes

All this cold cold weather is making me long for the cruise even more! Feb 24th can't get here soon enough. http://www.wdwinfo.com/images/smilies/woohoo.gif I have a couple of comments questions I thought I'd share/ask.

1. Reading another thread that said the online cruise check-in has changed. Went to check my reservation. I thought I had completed the online check-in docs but with the new changes it said incomplete. So wanted to let everyone know to re-check that. Also, the new check-in has a place to select what time you will arrive at port. Interesting.http://www.wdwinfo.com/images/smilies/confused24.gif

2. Is the 3pm meet & greet just for the FE people or for everyone? We are trying to pack super light so we opted not to do the FE, but nevertheless would be interested in meeting everyone.

I agree! last week we had -22 below zero and now we have 16 inches of snow and counting.:headache: I had to climb in the frozen attic and search for those shorts and T's. (but it will be worth it) Now I pray for the airline not to be "snowed in".

Hi, njkt!
My husband, DS (7), & I are trying to figure out how to get back to the AKL (WDW animal kingdom lodge) from the cruise - maybe we could share a car service on the way back? There's 3 of us. We have a ride to the cruise from a friend of the family, but haven't settled on the return - if you'd like us to join you, we could talk on-board?

We're so excited to be leaving the snow (we shoveled and shoveled and shoveled, today) :dance3: My only worry is that more snow will somehow prevent us from this, our first Disney cruise. :scared1: Will think warm happy calming thoughts in hopes of sympathetic nature...

I checked the online docs and ours still say complete. Never saw a place to fill out our expected port arrival time. Maybe they read the DIS boards and saw that we always arrival early? :rotfl:
I feel for all of you in the snow. Lived that life once; never again! Just to warm up all up - we're in Palm Beach County and we're expected to reach 80 again today. :cool2:

Interesting about the check in information. Going to check now. :goodvibes

As for the meet, it's for everyone! Always nice to meet our Dis Friends :goodvibes

OK checked all our reservations and our check in is still complete. Never got a question about what time we'd be arriving to the port though :confused3

Like everyone else I am SOOOOOO ready for nice weather. I really hope it's not windy. In Dec. when we were on the Wonder it was windy but I still got in the pool :goodvibes

weloveheidi- sending warm thoughts your way so you make it. Definitely don't want you to miss your first DCL cruise!:boat:

stingfancb- a little jealous of your 80 degree weather since we had 70 yesterday but only expecting 40ish today.

Okay. Just out of curiosity, I went back to the online check-in. I clicked on the "print signature form again". Even though it said complete I was able to check over it and came across the arrival time. I'm thinking that if you've already completed them; they're fine. If you want to - you can fill out the new ones. All the arrival times were available - sounded as though someone else had to choose from available times. :confused3
Also - on the identification part - I was now able to choose something other than passport. My DBF is using birth certificate/photo ID - that was never an option before.

So I am ready:banana:...its jus DSpirate: n and Iprincess: that I have to pack for our house an I am happy to say we are all packed n ready with 2 weeks to go...yes I said all packed...:rotfl:

Now jus to get DSis and her crew packed and ready:laundy:...gotta go buy DNiece a new Disney swimsuit bc she keeps growing...hoping she stops driving DSis up a wall or else she wont be goin on her own birthday cruise:confused3
As well as we are tryin to get everyone feeling better:sick:...the weather is killin us all:sad2:

The 2 Do List is out and we are a go...doin our second Disney Movie count down dinnerpopcorn:: 2morrow night and also a birthday dinner for our DFriend goin with us on the cruise so it will be fun! Tinkerbell hopefully will sprinkle some "Time Flies" pixie dust on us during the movie to help the 23rd (we board the train to FL) come ASAP :wizard:

Lookin forward to meeting everyone at the Dis Meet @ 3pm:thumbsup2 See everyone real soon!
