Hiah Haley! Yay another merchandise castmember...and you're wellness too!
I have a question, I am flying down there a day early in case my flight gets delayed (Colorado has terrible weather) and I am just wondering what shuttle service (if any) are you guys using?
Hello!! I am actually attractions. haha.!!
And where are you staying at?
Hi Haley!!!!
Did either of you from Merch email Recruiting to request a work location? I just did and I feel like it's a mistake to have done it :-( I don't know. I get so uneasy over emails I sent to the CP. I feel like I just barely got in (hanging on by a thread there!!!) and have no right to email them to ask for a place. I was cery clear in saying that I understood that my requests might be considered but by no means were guaranteed, and that I was really pelased to be able to work wherever I was placed. I hope they don't think I'm a selfish brat who only wants to work at the Princess stores...

I did the very same thing as you, and I too, was clear about being content with any location they might place me in. I did receive an email in return thanking me for my communication, stating that this request would be noted in my file, that there is no guarantee they can accomodate it, but that they do take requests into account. So there you have it. Bottom line...they will put you where they need you, but if you are a true Disney lover which I am sure that you are...you will be thrilled to be there to begin with and will probably wind up loving whatever you do because you represent Disney!![]()
I know for me the time is going super slow! Until I leave I am basically working and getting things ready![]()
It's amazing that it's a month away!!! What are you doing to pass the time?![]()
Hey all. I needed to get this off my chest and I just didn't think it belonged in the FB group.
Okay, so I was just talking to my mother about the CP and I realized how little she looked into the CP. I mentioned looking at the space saver bags and hearing that they were useless, and she asked me why I would need those. I told her that I was thinking about what a pain it would be to try and pack bedding, but it's cheaper than trying to buy it down in FL.
She said, "Well, just wait and see what's down there in the apartment when you move in." And I sort of blinked and said, "Um... there won't be bedding in the apartment." She asked me how I knew that. I explained that they don't give you bedding; they give you furniture and dishes/plates/forks (kitchen stuff) but that's all. It's like a dorm, but you're renting it and paying weekly.
It upset me a little that she's barely looked at the program. She only asked me for the website address after I'd accepted my role and paid the $100. I know she has two other children, one of whom is a full-time job who needs constant care and attention... but seriously. She let her first-born (and only) daughter pay $100 and commit to moving to Florida for six months without even looking at the program?
My dad has taken great interest and frequently asks me about the program, perks, and the people I've been talking to on FB. My mother hasn't really asked me much besides "What do you do there?" and "Where do you live?"
I don't want to say anything to her about it, or to my dad (they're divorced) but I needed to say something somewhere. I'm just so bummed that she hasn't taken a ton of interest in something I care so deeply about.

I am sorry, it's been tough for me as well. It seems as though even though I leave in three weeks the interest level in what I still need to get done, or what actually goes with the CS is lacking. I don't know why that is, it could be genuine disinterest, but maybe it's also that they don't want to recognize that you will be leaving so soon. Your mom loves you as does my family, so maybe it is hard for them to understand that this is really important to you because they are still not sure if they will be able to let you go.
This may be a very poor explanation, but as far as advice goes, maybe ask her to sit down with her and tell her that you would really love to talk about the program because you are excited and you want her to be excited for it too.
As a middle child who has done the program, without ANY type of fanfare from my parents (mom or dad) just try your best to ignore it and look forward to the fun that is Disney. This program was VERY VERY important to me and my father was indifferent and my mother against it (she actually tried to stop me from going even after I had already checked in at Vista) neither cared how important it was to me. It's even worse this time around as I apply and wait to do the program a second time. But I can promise you that the magic and fun of being down there. The bad days and the good ones, the crazy guest stories and your own moments of disbelief that you can be in Disney as much as you want is enough to make you forget about the people who upset you when you weren't there. So hang in there![]()
