Feb 2009 code watch

Hi! We're booked Feb 5-10 staying at the Poly! Very excited as this is the first time we're staying at a resort on the monorail! I'm new to the whole "code" thing. We are already booked with a Magic Your Way with Dining package through AAA. Am I able to use any of the codes when they come out even though I'm already booked?

You can apply codes to your reservation after they come out but if you booked through AAA you'll have to have your agent call with any code that comes out to apply it to your reservation. :)

For those of you who got the deal last year for the free park hopper and water park option, I have a question...

Was this part of a package with hotel, etc.? Or was this just the tickets? In other words, could I buy just the tickets in February for our trip in April? Thanks!

I do believe that was part of a package = room and tickets.

Yes - the discount was part of a package last year. I've used the discount every time we've gone. The discount was a small portion off the cost of the room, plus free park hoppers + water parks and more (included admission into Disney Quest). So, you must buy the package to get the discount.

Okay, I have a very simple question, since I am waiting and crossing every possible body part, lol, for a code in early Feb. - should I just go ahead and reserve rooms (prob. 2 connecting rooms at AS Sports, definately value). And just apply the code that we WILL get (positive thinking) at that time as well as deciding on the dining plan too? I haven't gotten any airfare either since our dates aren't set in stone yet. Guess I need to get the room reserved first since it needs to be a value, budget wise, before we get airline tickets.

Another question, if the code would be for Park hoppers, room, etc. can you still add Dining Plan to your package? I know I have to make changes outside of 45 days, would that include cancelling completely if necessary?

Thanks so much for your help!!:goodvibes I really feel clueless this time planning since nobody, besides DH, have any idea we might go on vacation. So I can't bounce ideas off anyone else.

Someone mentioned AAA up there-can I book with AAA (who is about $300 cheaper for my package) and if/when a code comes out apply it to my AAA ressie-or does my ressie have to be with Disney directly? Also, our reservation will have 5 people, but only 4 will have 6 day tickets while the other will only have a 3-4 day ticket.......will codes/discounts still work?TIA

Just an FYI- The National High School cheerleading championships are going on there in early Feb. They stay at ASSP so you may have a hard time getting a room there since the teams usually book them.

Thanks, DD8 would love to see cheerleaders all over but I might have to reconsider that. Do you know when and can anyone see them? That might be something for DD and I to do if the guys go to Disney Quest -hmmm

Should I just go ahead and try to get rooms at one of the values for now just to be sure we have them and apply any codes later?

As far as I know, AAA will change your package to use the code, but you can only use the AAA discount or the Disney code, not both. (There have been instances of people saying they got both, but those were the odd occurances.)

All people in the same package must have the same tickets. No matter whether there is a code, or not.
You can get everyone the 3 day tickets, and then upgrade those who need it to 6 days when you get there, paying the difference.
The only way around that is room only, buy tickets separately.

has anyone ever been to Disney around the time of the High School Cheerleading Championships?

I know the competition is from Feb. 7-8 this year and that the Cheerleaders only stay at the Caribbean Beach Resort / All Star Sports for the competition. But i want to know how the parks are during that time, do they get packed?

Great!:sad2: I hope they won't be a problem.
We'll be at CBR feb 3-10.

We were there early Feb 07 at the same time as the cheerleaders. We didn't have any problems. The wait times were very low. On our AK day we saw a lot of groups of them in the parks, but wait times were still good. These girls are at a high level of competition and very dedicated to their sport. You probably won't see them in the parks untill they are done competing.

I have, they arent really a factor at the parks. Indiana Jones at Hollywood Studios was closed a couple of days for competition. IMO they aren't really a factor in crowd levels. I'll take them anyday over the singing tour groups!

They compete at both MGM- Indiana Jones and WWOS. You are welcome to go watch. Crowds should not be too bad. I booked at POP and am hoping to apply a code later. Your DD8 would probably enjoy watching.

we've been there several times during the Cheerleading Competition. we never noticed long lines for attractions, but we did notice lots of them on the All Star buses at night, and also they stand around in large groups at HS, blocking your pathway sometimes. You know teens - oblivious of everyone else. They didn't seem to cause any big problems, though, and I would not hesitate to go during that time period again.

Anyone recall when Feb codes came out last year? Wondering what codes for Feb 2009 might be. Might take a trip

Hi! I'm new, so first of all, thanks for this great forum, and all the info in here :)

Me and my DBF are visiting WDW for the first time next February (6 thru 12); we're on a budget, but we decided to go anyway because we've been told it's an amazing experience! A code would be great for us...

My question is: Can non-US residents use the codes? (We're from Argentina) I was looking at the official website, in the reservations site, but I couldn't find a field to enter any promotional codes... Do I have to make my reservation first, and then call and apply the code?

Sorry for being an annoying newbie with all these questions
