We will be arriving at POP around 1 am, will anything be open in the line of food if we get there and are starving?

Disney is MUCH more educational than preschool for a 3 yr old. I don't think they'll miss out on too much. My 6 yr old missed a week three times and never seemed any worse for wear! And he had so much to tell his friends...the plane ride, the busses, the rides, etc.

Also thinking about going first or second week of Feb. Don't want to get too close to Pres. Weekend. I hear it's pretty crazy about that time! In MO, we get off for Lincoln's Bday which is a Thursday and then Pres Day is the following Monday. Don't think too many state employees will be at work that Friday. Great excuse for a 5 day weekend!!

I pulled my 4 year olds out of pre-k last year for WDW in JAN. I asked the techers ahead of time what letter/color/theme they would be doing that week, and we incorporated it into our trip. The boys didn't miss a thing. They jumped right back into school upon our return. At that young age, I really think you are fine taking a child out for a week. ENJOY! and take LOTS AND LOTS of pictures. My favorite trip with the boys was their first, when they were 2 1/2 years old.

Last year it was a free upgrade from basic tickets to Parkhopper and water parks option. And a discount on the room, but I don't know how much.
Value season ends 2/12, with peak season starting 2/13/09, so go before then to maximize any discount.

2006 was empty, fast pass machines weren't even turned on. 2007 there was a little increase in crowds but waits were still under 10 minutes. 2008 was a lot more crowded because of Mardi Gras, waits were a little longer, but manageable.

I have pulled my kids out of school the last three years and am pulling them out this year again. I don't feel guilty at all. I talk to all of the teachers ahead of time and they give us the homework and classwork to be completed while on vacation. BTW, my kids are in 6th and 4th.

if the there's a Room Only Code and its anything like what we've seen in recent months, it could be anywhere from 30-40% off your room. I got 40% off my room in May of this year about a month before my trip. i'm hoping for the same again, only sooner.

We already booked our flights for these exact dates. After booking the flights, we learned that the Superbowl is scheduled for Feb 1st in Tampa, which is around 100?? miles away. There is some speculation that this will cause crowds to increase substantially over prior years. Just a FYI

the crowds will be fine.........we were there at Christmas in 2006-it could never be that bad!!!! We are hanging on to my husbands coat tail, he is going for a convention-so it helps with the $$ since his business will pay for part of the trip!! I can deal with the crowds with the "deal" we are getting!!Thanks for the advice though!

kristi! please don't feel ANY guilt at all about pulling a 3 year old out of preschool! there was a thread here in august about a special ed. teacher taking unused personal days/ sick days (whatever) to take her family for free dining in sept.

you go and have all kinds of fun!!!!!

Help! I am sooooo confused. Haven't been since April 2004 and just decided yesterday that we want to go in Feb. 2009. Please give me a clue as to what to do first. What and where might I find codes? We do have a Disney Visa. Really want to keep this as inexpensive as possible but within some constraints -- on-site (5 people, me, DH, DS14, DS12, DD8), possibly park-hopper, no water parks, would love DH and DS's to go to Disney Quest (they did while DD and I did the princess things the other year), did the dining plan before and it was great but I guess this is a toss-up even though we loved the convenience and ate things we NEVER even think about ordering regularly (esp. deserts and appetizers). Thanks for any help, I apologize if this is the wrong board to post on, feel free to move it if necessary.
