Feb 2009 code watch

im hoping for the same/similiar deal for feb 09 otherwise it might be my first time off property :(

any word or info on the historical date for february discounts for general & ap?

What was the "deal" they had available for Feb 08? Was there a room discount?

I have 16th of us staying at OKW from 2/22 -2/28. ADR for CRT and Chef Mickeys.

I so want to turn 40 at Disney!! It will be 22 years since I was in the College Program and I always swore that I would be standing on Main Street, USA on my 40th!!

Last week of Feb....... oh please!!!

Doing my "good luck" dance!!

I just called to make ADR'S and the CM told me we could not make them untill after November. So I called back and talked to someone else and they made them for us. I don't understand how they don't all have the same information.

Does seem silly. I have heard the "hangup & call again" advice on several different topics though. If someone can't/won't help, try again.

I called on ADRs twice last week and luckily got two good knowledgeable & helpful CMs.

I was there end of Jan/first week of Feb this year and it was hot and crowded. Mardi Gras, I guess. AK was a bear (har har) to maneuver each of the 2 or 3 times we went. Should we pick the same time next year or the second week of Feb? Is Mardi Gras really the 3rd week of Feb? I don't mind some heat so we can use the pools, but heat + crowds = :headache:

Keep in mind, the 2009 Superbowl will be in Tampa---I think its Feb 1. That may bring larger than normal crowds to Orlando area & WDW around that time period.

Hello in Michigan!

I read earlier that Mardi Gras is the 24th (????). If that is the case and Superbowl is the first week, then I will wait for the 2nd week to go down.

Anyone know when the first spring break usually hits town?

I'm jumping in here...

DH just agreed to a Feb 09 WDW trip. Our tenative dates are 2/22-2/27. That means we would be there during Mardi Gras. Is this a bad idea? How bad does it get?

Also, I haven't sifted through the pages of posts on this thread. Did anyone ever get a code for feb 09? I'm going to call tomorrow to see if one is associated with my name. I requested a planning DVD a couple of months ago and we are Disney Movie Club members so maybe :confused3 there is something out there in my name. My next step will be Disney Visa card to get my name on the list (hopefully).

I was looking at the resort rates, off season ends 2/12 (I think). After that the rates almost doubled (for Pop). When I was in college my spring break was always the first week of March. Some of the schools in Michigan have adjusted their semesters though (due to the public schools changing their school year to begin after labor day). I have a friend who attends a private college...his fall semester doesn't begin until next week. I don't know if that will affect the rest of their breaks or not.

Presidents week is usually busy.

Hi Everyone - I'm new here and boy, what a pluthera of information here. . .it's almost daunting. We are booking our first family trip this weekend - going 2/7/09 -2/12/09 staying at Pop Centry. We are planning on booking via the website or just calling - or, is using a TA a better idea? Thoughts? This is the first time we've ever planned a Disney trip on our own so kind of winging it!

And what about ADR - we are thinking of doing the new counter service meal plan which you don't need any ADR for but I'd like to book ONE nice sit down character meal - but something both my 8 yr old DS and 5 yr old DD will both enjoy. Thoughts??

Hey... we are going to be at Pop from 2/7-2/15:thumbsup2
I booked over the phone with Disney. They were very helpful. Watch this site for codes, adn you can call Disney back adn they will credit you for the discount. I have heard that this time of year they have had a free tix upgrade.
I made my ADRs on August 11th. So you can go ahead and schedule your character dining. I didnt do the dining plan. We have a reservation at CRT and Chef Mickeys and Coral Reef. Other than that, we are going to cheap out and chow at McDs LOL! We did Crystal Palace last year and it was really cool. My kids loved the characters hugging them and making a big deal over them while they ate. I loved it as an adult! Nothing like getting a hug from Pooh! The food is okay, but your really paying for the experience. I booked that a month before a peak time. As far as CRT and Chef Mickey goes, if you decide.... book now!!!! I have never eaten at either one. But they both look irresistable as far as character experiences go and book up really quick.
I hope I helped a bit... I am so excited to go on this trip, I could go on and on LOL!

Booked our reservation today - Feb. 6 - 13 at the Poly. :cool1:
Letting the travel agent handle our ADR's, but major planning is done. What a great break this will be from the long Wisconsin winter!

Booked our vacation at POR for Feb 25 - March 2. We're going for my 40th two days prior to our arrival and our 15th anniversary. DW, DS8, DD6 & DD3. Now we sit and wait for the trip and codes.

I always call to make my ressies, but be sure to decline the insurance if not interested. They will bill you without you knowing.

Chef Mickey is great for breakfast. Then you can simply walk over to Magic Kingdom.

To find discount codes, click on resorts and then codes and rates at top of page. Usually, Jan/Feb codes come out end of Oct or Nov.
