Feb 2009 code watch

I'm hoping to go late Jan. or early Feb. We went two years ago Feb. 11th weekend (it was the last few days of value season before vacation season) and the crowds were low and we got a nice code for CSR. This year we have 5 people so we won't be able to stay there again, but maybe POR even though it's not my first choice. 5 people is a pain! :rotfl:

We are staying at Pop. I thought about Port Orleans, but the kids loved the giant Mr Potato head LOL! Oh well... :lmao:

5 more months :rolleyes1 its taking forever!

Are you all expecting something to come out before Oct. 31?

We're considering going the end of February so codes would be great. I think we'll be staying at POR. It looks like we can book now and apply the code after, right?

Yes I booked yesterday and I specifically asked if we could apply codes later fi they came out. The CM said yes just to call back after we got it.

So...if we book just the rooms for February and later we are able to use a code or want to add the Dining Plan, we would be able to do so?

I didn't ask about the dining plan, but I did ask about adding the Waterparks later if we find out that it will be warm enough and she said yes, so I would think that it would apply to anything you wanted to add.... I would probably call though to make sure...

Just subscribing to this thread as we are also making our first trip to disney in February!!:cool1: Absolutely can not wait!!

I called to make our adr's and did book chef mickeys for breakfast for the day we are at animal kingdom. Do you think that was a good idea? I'm getting so confused on locations of places. I'm booking for my sister and her family and my family and my head is spinning.

Also, any recommendations for Magic Kingdom? We're thinking of either Crystal Palace, California Grill or Grand Floridian cafe. Which has the best food. AND, would it be wiser to eat before the fireworks or try to get adr's for during the fireworks??

OH, and we're staying at Port Orleans French Quarter. None of us have been to disney before so we're so excited...the adults that is, the kids will find out at Christmas!!

Are the only places we can currently make ressies at CRT and Chef Mickey? Or are there more? Is CRT just for the character meals or is it also the dinner/non character meal?

thanks,

You can eat at Chef Mickey's & go to AK as long as your not planning on getting to AK at rope drop.
If you choose to eat at Cali Grill, book it for right b4 fireworks start. That's a great place to watch them. I think Crystal Palace would be good during fireworks too. We ate dinner at The Plaza during fireworks. We just walked out onto the sidewalk during fireworks & then right back inside for dessert. It was nice b/c we didn't have to stake out a spot to sit & then we were relaxed & eating dessert while everyone was dealing w/crowds trying to leave Main Street. Another of our fav restaurants & good for watching fireworks is Narcoossee's at GF.

We are planning on Feb. 2009 so discount codes would be GREAT! WE havent booked anything yet - hoping for Pirate and Princess Party dates to be announced.

We're going Feb 27 - Mar 3 staying at CSR! Just wanted to jump on the bandwagon.

A previous poster asked about adding the hopper discount code(if/when it comes out) on top of a AAA discount. I thought I'd have to give up the AAA discount in order to take advantage of a different discount, assuming it's a better deal.
Can anyone confirm this? Or would I actually be able to have both the AAA discount and the Disney hopper code?
Thanks!
Leah

Oh yeah, I also wanted to ask if anyone else has ever been to the pirate and princess party, which I think should be going on at this time. Current prices on Disney.com are like $45 EACH..which will probably go up even more for 2009...seems a little steep for an admission to a park you ALREADY have a ticket for! Is it really worth it ?? I've heard the fireworks are excellent...what else?
TIA,
Leah

Leah, P&P party definately worth the price, particularly if you are going during high volume times. We went durting Presidents week and walked right on almost all the rides. Lots of fun with costumes and extra things going on.

We are going Feb. 5th, 2009. I was actually within 180 days. Chef Mickeys and CRT were the only available bookings. I was told to call back in October.
