Feb 20, 2011 - Presidents' Week - Mexican Riviera

Hi All,
I have a quick question. We are flying into LAX and spending the night at the Hyatt (near Disneyland) The Hyatt has a shuttle from LAX for a fee and free Shuttle to Disneyland (which we will be doing)

Next AM we're looking into a taxi or maybe gateaway from the Hyatt to the port. My question is about how far is it from Disneyland to the port any suggestions on trasportation? Any info would be great.
Thanks
Patricia

How many of you are there? Just off the top of my head, a taxi sounds expensive. Have you looked into a town car or Super Shuttle?

There are 6 of us Super Shuttle sounds interesting. Is the port far from Disneyland?

Heeeyyyy Purtypat--we cruised together President's Week of '09! Hola! Your name looked familiar, and right there below your signature was confirmation.

Our family of 5 is doing primetimeshuttle(.com) private vans for the 3 legs of our trip. It will cost us between $75-$85 per leg. I am not sure if that includes tip, or not. There is also:

www.super shuttle.com
Or Execucar @ 1-800-410-4444

Everywhere I checked (which was just about everywhere) after 4 people & luggage, you basically have 2 choices: van (shared or private) or big limo (which usually also has a very small limit on # of bags).

Hope that helps! See you on the ship, maybe! :)

It is about 30 miles but, depending on traffic, can take 30-60 minutes to get there.

I plugged in the addresses into a Yellow Cab fare calculator and they estimate $80-$92 but, for 6 people, you would need two cabs.

There are a few shuttle companies.... Super Shuttle, Prime Time Shuttle, Zippy Shuttle, Karmel Shuttle, etc. Some may only shuttle to and from airports so you're going to have look up the details online.

We live just down the street in Milford. Boy it's a small world isn't it. Sounds like you guys are really making an adventure out of the cruise. Disneyland before hand. Sound great.

I work at Sikorsky and live in the Devon area (just across the bridge on the post road) of Milford, down near Walnut Beach, between there and the Audubon center.
I have a number of co-workers that live in the Trumbull area.

I used to teach at Mathewson School in Milford & worked at Bennigans's & Knickerbockers throughout Senior year of HS & college! I grew up in Stratford! I know Milford VERY well!!!

Gee Thanks everybody, this is the info I need.

Jennifer_W I sure do remember you, it was a great cruise!!!! Have you heard from Jodi? Has it been 2 years? We're going next Feb. I'm planning early, and have been enjoying reading your thread and getting lots of tips.

Will you be going next year too?

Hey I was on that cruise too :goodvibes

I thought your board name looked familiar, too, Chris--but I also asked BRUINS if they were on that cruise & no. :confused3. Anywhoo, hopefully this cruise will be as AWESOME as that one!

Yes, I have been in contact with Jodi from time to time. She, Bruce & the kids are on back to backs on the Dream right now!!! We actually looked at switching ours to that vacation (we couldn't have hand-picked better table mates!), but switching late in the game was just too spendy. Plus, the chance to go back to DL is going to be great! Even if it is raining. Shorter lines. :banana:Not sure about going next year, although once I am on board, how can I possibly resist??? :confused3

Are you pre-planning for MR next Feb.? You organized girl, you. Sorry we won't see you this time around.

OK, I spent no less than 5 hours today making door magnets. For our own doors. I have SERIOUSLY got to get some important stuff done...like finding a place to board the dog and telling my kids' teachers they're skipping school next week. :scared1:

I

Stinkerbell updated her trip report.... :cold:

I love her report. :)

Did you guys see the new navigators are up? More reading material to pass the time. I think I may print them out and review on our drive down Friday.

I downloaded the first set of Navigators, but the type on an 8.5 x 11" paper is so small that I can barely read it even with my stronger reading glasses. I decided that, unless I really need to feel old, I'm just going to wait until we board and read them each day.

The rain is supposed to stop on Thursday or Friday, but it's not supposed to warm up this coming weekend. That said, you never know...

Where are these? I would very much like to download them.

Hi, all.

We're Itinerary A, right? The latest Itinerary A Navigators that were posted showed that Monday was Formal Night - does anyone know if that's the latest for our Itinerary, or if it will be Tuesday, like we heard originally? :confused3

We currently have Palo ressies for Tuesday, but when we heard that Formal Night was Tuesday, we were going to cancel (just to hear our kids (the boys at least) complain about having to get dressed up :rotfl2:), and take potluck on the ship for another night (we already have brunch ressies for Saturday).

Can anyone confirm which night will be Formal Night on our cruise??

TIA!!!:thumbsup2

Hi Everyone,
This is our 1st Disney Cruise and my husbands wants to know if the beds on the Wonder are comfortable? We usually request an egg carte under the bed when we are vacation. Does anyone know if Disney offers egg cartes? Can't believe we leave on Sunday.

The beds on the Wonder (we got back on Feb 6th) were good. My husband doesn't like them too firm and is somewhat picky but he said the bed was fine. It wasn't too soft or too firm and was just right.

OK,so I can't find it anywhere...

Where are we meeting on embarkation day? I know it's 3pm somewhere.:confused3

Can't wait to meet everyone!!!:goodvibes

Let's meet at 3 pm in the Promenade Lounge. I hope all of the DISers on the cruise can be there to meet each other in person. The lounge is on deck 3 right next to the internet cafe - you pass it on your way to Parrot Cay. Pretty much everyone should be on board by then and if the weather is less than ideal people won't freeze. I'll have extra copies of the FE list and Deck Plan ready to make any last minute changes, and some extra green Mickey heads. If anyone doing FEs doesn't make it to the meet please stop by my room (7040 and 7042) and pick up an updated list or leave me a note on the white board on my door. I'll stay in the lounge until at least 3:30 and will try to keep track of who doesn't show up but I can't guarantee.

Here is the info from Elaine :)
