FEB 20, 2010 Western MAGIC Cruise

Thanks, Shauna. Wow, on of people who posted about their FE said they brought 125 pieces. :scared1:

Doesn't seem like there are that many people on our list so far. I'm still in.

Holey Moley!
What did they do with all that stuff? Bring an extra suitcase or what? I thought the cruise was expensive, but add the tipping, drinks and fish extender stuff...whoa! I betcha we can figure out a way to be more economical...

So, my DD started penpal-ing a fellow DISdaughter, and is getting very excited! Please PM or email me if you are interested..our girls are - Madeline (turns 13 on March 8) and Amelia (11 in May) and then there's Jakey, who can't type and barely read but is very social at 6...

Is anyone else staying at the 'Radison Resort at the Port' the night before? We are coming in from Maine, so we weren't going to risk it with the weather...

39 days and counting!:dance3:

On my last seven night cruise we had more than 30 families participating in the FE. That was before all the new luggage regulations! This time DH will be lucky if he gets to bring a suitcase. Maybe he can just wear all of his clothes so I can have two suitcases for myself?:rotfl2:

We're staying at the Hyatt at the airport this time. I stayed at the Radisson before my cruise last May, and really enjoyed it.

We would be interested in the FE as well. Usually there is a cut off date to participate so that you have enough time to put items together for each participant. We also need to know everyones stateroom #'s and ages of kids so that appropriate items can be delivered to the participating FE.

Hi Shauna - I will respond to your pm you sent when I get 10 posts.

Hi Disney Ladies and Gents! pirate::mickeyjum

Now I am in such a winter rutt, thinking about the cruise is sure to snap me out of it- thinking of going to tan as well- get quite pale up here in Maine... so, Amelia (DD10.5) and Madeline (DD 13 March 8) and Jake (DS6.5) are all excited about penpal-ing other kids- The more comfy they feel with kids and the kids clubs, the more time to dance with my DH and head out to Key West without them! So...also just figured out (thanks to the boards) what fish extenders were- thought you all were going to get an extra long fishing pole to fish off the back of the ship! So, who's doing FE?? We're game! Going to make some magnets for the door, too, as well as a dry erase board... are you all doing 1st or 2nd seating?? Excursions? We are flying in on the 19th, and hooking up with Happy Limo as it seems cheaper for 6 of us then DCL transportation...
Keep us Damboise's in the loop!! :woohoo:

O.K. Im in, guess I better deside on a design and get sewing. Yikes.:scared1:
We are flying in from the Buffalo airport on the 18th . We to are worried about the weather and will be at POFQ for the first two nights. Our son is 6 and our daughter is turning 5 on the trip. Our room # is 2518. I am not sure how this is going to be organized? Being a newbie and all. Will try to stay in the loop. LOL Oh what fun!!!

Ok so I would be willing to organize the FE exchange- please reply to this message or PM me with Stateroom# and people in stateroom and with children's ages/genders. I say we have a cut off date of next Monday 1/18/2010 of those that want to participate. Figure about 1 or 2 small items delivered to each FE once a day. Here is the list so far

wld4mky rm# 2518 DS(6) DD(4)

kbmo4444 rm's 7600 & 7602 DD(10) DD (8)

kadillon rm#1068 DD(3) DD(3) & rm#1070 DD(5) DD(7)

hollypoast rm's 5127 & 5129 DS(13) DS(11) DD(3)

I'd love to do it...

1068 is DD3 and DD3
1070 is DD5 and DD7

Now I need to find out what exactly a FE is!!!!

Can't wait for vacation.

Hi All!
Just wondering what seating everyone is signed up for? We are now on for late seating... anyone else? Also, is there a way to find out your dining rotation and to request a certain pattern? I am freezing here in Maine and CAN'T WAIT!

We're also on late seating--2 adults, just DH and me. "Grandma and Grandpa" are planning a great vacation!

I don't know whether you can find out ahead of time, although I would imagine that there's a way. Your dining rotation is printed on your KTTW card. If you don't like it, you can change it once you get on board. I've only changed my dining rotation once in all my cruises. We did back-to-back 4-night cruises, and wanted to keep the same servers for the second cruise, so we changed our rotation to match theirs. We like the "element of surprise" with our dining rotation and our dining partners. That's part of the fun of cruising for us! We've met some wonderful people that way. On our last cruise we had our reservations linked with a group of around 18 DIS families. We had two huge tables side by side in the dining rooms and had a wonderful time.

It's cold here in New Jersey, too. I walk a mile every morning from the train station to my office and the wind was really strong this morning, although it's nowhere near as cold as it was last week!

late seating too---and we love it! We just take our chances on rotation too. Doesn't really matter to us. I have to confess though that we haven't done formal night in awhile. Just stresses me out too much getting the kids ready. Probably will opt not to do it again. I hate to miss a night in the dining room but 4 kids in formal wear just isn't fun for me. Plus I have to go out and get everyone new stuff since they've grown. Would rather save it for onboard stuff. But we've done formal night enough times. If you are new, don't miss it. It is fun. Get pictures and all! Have a great day everyone. I am starting to set stuff aside and tomorrow will be able to do some shopping. Debi

We have late seating. We prefer this so we do not feel rushed during the day. We requested PLAPLAP. You can request a certain rotation by calling DCL directly if you booked through them or your TA. This is just a request not guarantee. You will not know rotation until check-in it will be on your KTTW along with your table#

We requested an early rotaion. Can you telll me how you found out already what your dining time is? I have not seen or known where to look to see what it is . :confused3Thanks guys. BTW looks like our FE list is pretty short. Will have to wait and see on the 18th when it closes I guess. Bye for now.

We love formal night because it's the only time we can get a really good picture of the two of us (well, except for semi-formal night and our dinner at Palo;)). Neither one of us is very photogenic, but the DCL photographers really make us look human! Of course, it's just the two of us. I can't imagine trying to get kids all dressed up while they're on vacation!

My travel agent knows that we like late dining. The time is listed on the webpage from our travel agent (Dreams Unlimited).

I'm attaching a little treat for anyone interested. This is the sign I made for my door magnet. It's based on one that I made for my 2007 cruise, which was based on one that someone sent me to work with. Feel free to use it or change it (or ignore it;)).

Here's another group chiming in to say we'll be on the 2/20 cruise!

We have late seating too...wonder how that will work with my little ones :dance3:

Welcome MexiFinn!

We are late also. We are in the central time zone so even if we get 8:30 pm seating it will feel like 7:30 pm to us. Given all of the food options on the ship I'm not worried about finding a snack if I need one.:rotfl:

My biggest worry right now is Cozumel. I'm so torn on the shore excurrsions. At first I was planning to just keep the kids on the ship and DH and I were going on the Jungle Hike alone. (I'm paranoid about the crime, etc. in Mexico) But on the other hand I read trip reports and see everyones picture and start to doubt my decission. I have a 13, 11 and 3 year old. Anyone have suggestions for me? Anyone ever been to Chankanaab National Park... did you do by taxi or how'd you get there?
