Just got back...parks were very crowded for February. Here's what we did:
Sat - Dinner Rainforest Cafe - the kids love this, so we eat there once every trip. The food is chain-like but good. Great atmosphere for kids. Note that they did not accept Disney Reward Dollars - not a big deal for us but could be for some.
Sun - Lunch CRT - DD6 did BBB before and thoroughly enjoyed it. Food was very good - both me and DH had the Shepherd's Pie and enjoyed it. DS had some type of sandwich (can't recall which one) but liked it and loved the sweet potato chips. This is a must do for us for the character's alone, but the good food is a bonus!
Sun - Dinner Chef Mickey's - Food was fair/typical buffet. I like having the character interaction this way rather than waiting in long lines in the park, but would go for the breakfast next time.
Mon- Dinner Hollywood & Vine - Not so great buffet. We did the Fantasmic Dinner package, but I wouldn't do that again (the package - not Fantasmic, which was GREAT). (DH has dictated no more buffets, unless it is breakfast!) I didn't think the Fantasmic package seating was anything special that we couldn't have achieved without the package.
Tues - Lunch Rose & Crown at Epcot- not a huge menu. I had the shepherds pie (again - but very different than the CRT one). It was good but small portion. DS has the fish & chips - a HUGE portion of fish...he enjoyed it. DH had the open face roast beef - he enjoyed it but I tried it and didn't care for it. Had lunch outside and the weather was beautiful with a nice view....that was nice but probably wouldn't eat there again.
Tues - Dinner Teppan Edo's - LOVED this, and so did the kids. Didn't think DD6 would like anything but she liked the teriyaki chicken. DH and I both had the steak and chicken which was very good. DS13 had sushi and said it was good. Fun/entertaining for all and would definitely do that again.
Wed - Lunch Sci Fi Diner - made the mistake of accepting the "stretch limo" that came up before the car....didn't really pay attention to what it was (although they showed me a picture I was tired and didn't pay attention!) If you have kids - don't agree to that! DD6 was not happy we were not in the "car". The burger was good - DH had a turkey sandwich which he said was fair. I would do it again (probably for lunch only - not dinner based on the food selections) but would make sure we were in a car.
Wed - Dinner CA Grill - this was definitely the highlight of our trip food-wise. We were able to see the Wishes fireworks display from the observation deck which was nice. We had the pork carnita/cheese bread for an appetizer - great! DS13 had the sushi again and enjoyed it. Both DH and I had the steak - it was excellent.
Thurs - Breakfast Boma's - thought it was good - a very big selection.
Wish I had heeded the reviews on H&V and Chef Mickey's dinner, but live and learn! We ate way too much!
Hope everyone with pending trips has a great one!
