FEB 14 2004 Western Cruiser's

Hi everyone!:wave2:

I hear what you are saying about being busy Lynn. I have been meaning to answer your questions posted on the Yahoo board, but something else always stops me.

Our final payment is due on 12/15 with DU. My Christmas bonus comes on the 10th, so I plan to pay in full a little early. I believe Disney excursions will be open for booking on the 14th for us.

Lynn, you will have the time of your life with the Dolphin swim. I found the people at Dolphin Discovery to be extremely helpful and friendly, and always answered my emails immediately. The park is extremely clean, and they even have lockers for you to keep your personal things in while you are in the water. Let me know if you have any other questions.

We did the Disney excursion in Grand Cayman with the Turtle Farm, Hell, and the Stingrays. The other part of my family booked with Captain Marvin's. I've heard rave reviews about Captain Marvin's, and my family was very happy with the service and the excursion. I went with Disney simply because I wanted to get a "taste" of the island. It seems like we are there for such a limited time (departs at 5:30) rather than 11 something at Cozumel. This 2004 trip I already had booked, so I knew I would be going back. The stingray part of the excursion was great! Tip: buy your own underwater cameras here from like Walmart. They sell them on the boat that takes you out to the rays, but they wanted $20.00 each for them!!! The turtle farm was fun, Aimee got to hold a turtle, and of course stop in the shop for some rum cake! Hell, was okay. They do a very quick stop there, we took some pictures, and mailed a postcard from "hell"

We didn't book an excursion in Key West. We took the trolley on our own, which allows you to get off at any stop along the way. We did alot of shopping, this time the first stop will be Keno sandals. My DD was so upset last time, we decided to do that last rather than carrying her purchase everywhere, but the shop closes really early and we missed it! The Hemingway House tour was facinating, that is the only other thing we did.

This time we are leaning towards the Jeep excursion in Cozumel, and possibly horseback riding in Grand Cayman. Key West, well shopping, and perhaps renting one of those electric cars to explore some "back roads" The town itself is so quaint and colorful.

Only 4 more months! Time is flying by now.

:( The bad news is my family and I are not going on this cruise with you guys. I was enjoying getting excited with everyone and looking toward meeting on the Magic.

 The good news is---and I mean it is really good!!!! I have rescheduled our cruise for Nov 22nd, 2003, Thanksgiving week with a reduced price and upgraded room!!!!! All Seasons Travel is offering GA residents reduced rates and I jumped on it. Sooner, Cheaper I can live with that. It is the same Western cruise except 2 stops in Castaway Cay instead of Key West. I will gather all of the info I can and get it to you before you cruise.

Disappointed you will not be with us :(

Happy you are going earlier and can spy for us :)

I cannot beleive you would agree to miss out on Key West. My first stop in KW will be the Blonde Giraffe for a slice of Key Lime pie. My last stop in KW will be the Blonde Giraffe to pick up a Key Lime Pie and maybe a Key Lime Rum cake.

I am SOOOOO looking forward to some great key lime pie.

Hi everyone!

Mojomanny, what is the secret with the Blonde Giraffe and where is it? Our very first stop in Key West will be Keno Sandals.

Well, I couldn't stand it anymore, so I bit the bullet, and went for broke, and requested the air deviation to my specifications. We will be flying direct, and be in Orlando at 9:51am on Friday. Our return flight leaves Orlando at 1:55. I should be able to pick my seats in a day or two. I am relieved I don't have to stress anymore about how and when. So Lynn, hopefully you will have a morning flight also!

Only two months till final payment, and then we can start booking our excursions. I can hardly wait to hear about the changes onboard!

Blonde Giraffe is run by a brazilian couple who use the grandmothers recipe for Key Lime Pie. It has been voted best Key Lime Pie in Key West. Since this is the Key Lime Capital of the World, I am betting it is pretty good.

Where will you be staying? We get in to MCO around 3PM and are staying at the Cape Canaveral Radisson.

Hi Mojomanny,

Thanks for the info, I will have to do a search to find out where the place is. It's not the one where the old guy stands out on the street corner holding a pie, is it?? I have a picture of him looking like he was going to throw it at us. I will have to dig that picture out and see if it is the same place.

We are staying at the Hyatt, and using DCL transportation on Saturday.

:hyper: getting closer to double digits!!!! :hyper:

Almost down to double digits. Everyone have your dancing shoes ready for the double digit dance?

Looks like I'll be leading the double digit dance... for some reason my counter will reach double digits before anyone else...:scratchin

Bumping this up so it will get moved to the proper board!:wave2:

Robin

Everybody ready for the double digit dance?

:jumping1:

Yes, I sure am! I can't believe how fast time is flying. I just got my new 2003-2005 DCL brochure book in the mail today. Perfect timing! My timer appears to be a bit off, we land in Florida at 9:51am on Friday.

My kids are finally getting into the spirit. I think my singing 99 days till our cruise (to the tune of 99 bottles of beer) got to them.

Now they are the ones telling me how many days till our cruise.

I think their lives are so busy that they can't think that far ahead!

I will be getting my suitcases out the long weekend of Thanksgiving. Typically that is when I get all the Christmas stuff from the attic, and the suitcases will come down to air out.

This is an extremely busy time of the year, but once it is all over after New Years, the cruise is right around the corner. Yippee:cool1:

Sorry Mojomanny I don't know how my screen name wound up next to your message, I am signing on for the first time.

I am returning again this year to the 2/14/04 cruise and am wondering if there is anyone else who was on that cruise last year with children who went to Common Ground. My kids are
11 and 15 and are hoping to see some of their friends from last year!!!

This is our first cruise.

I am sailing with DD17, DS14 & DD12.

Hi dgmom2,

Welcome to our group of 2/14 cruisers! We were on the cruise last year same time. My DD17 and her friend also 17 were both on the cruise last year. This will be their 5th cruise during Presidents week. My daughter in fact met her friend on the cruise, and they have stayed in contact. We are in Connecticut, and Ali is in New Jersey, so they only see each other twice a year besides the cruise.

Is everyone getting excited yet??:jumping1:

We will know decisively in the morning.....but as of right now I think we will not be on the cruise.

Unforseen circumstances are causing us to change from the 2/14 Magic to the 2/15 Royal Carribean Mariner of the Seas. Eastern instead of Western....and not Disney.

SO disappointed....but at least we will still be on a ship

(and will spend 2/14 at WDW, possible 2/23 also since we will have to fly home on Monday)
