Hi All,
Just back from 19 great nights in Florida.
It was the first time staying in a Hotel for a few years(since recently selling my villa),so was interested to find out how it would go.

Flight was 3 hour delayed. Not the best start-not much for kids to do at Gatwick!!!Caught the Magical Express to Hotel.

Arrived at ASMo and the kids - nearly 3 and 4 -were sooo excited when arrived to hotel(something they never did when we arrived at villa)

I had stayed there several years ago,so was familiar with layout, organisation etc.

I was surprised how chilly it was and baught us all a coat the next day(hadn't taken any!!)

We went to magic Kingdom and had a great day.We even got a voucher for icecreams from the "dreams" people..I was sitting on a bench near Crystal Palace with my daughter asleep in my arms and my son next to me chatting away.

I had booked various character meals and the kids really enjoyed themselves...sadly my son threw up at Chef Mickeys on first week and at Ohanas last week.I was poorly the day before we went home and I had heard other people talking about their poorly children,so certainly a bug about.

No problems with the buses and I stuck with the single stroller and didnt hire the Disney ones in the end.I let my 4 year old stand on the back some days, but he was sooo much fitter by the end of the trip and was happy doing lots of walking!!!

We went to all the parks(of course)...lots of times and by the second week it really had heated up(no more wearing the coats!!)

We went to The Pirate and Princess party. It was alot of fun having the extra activities and collecting the treasure. We brought loads back with us as I like to limit how much choc the kids eat!!!! pirate:

I booked them into the Alice in Wonderland tea party at The Grand Floridian.I wasn't expecting to leave the children. My daughter was a bit clingy, but my son had a great time. The tea table looked soooo pretty. We received a photo at the end with Alice and the mad hatter!!

For the last 3 nights we stayed at the POR to compare between the two hotels. Not a great arrival. We caught bus and the driver shut the back door on my 4 year old as he was getting off.Luckily he wasnt hurt, but very shocked!!
It was obviously "posher" and the room was slightly bigger and more expensive looking. It was nice to have a smaller pool near to the rooms and the fridge in the room.A few more eateries. But I doubt Ill pay that extra again as we are in the hotel for so little time.

We bid a sad farewell and had an uneventful flight home.My children were really good on the plane and slept for most of it!!Wish I could

We are booked again for Dec 1st - 15th as I have never experienced the Christmas season Disney style :santa:

Sounds like you had a great time! :cool1: Did you do any parks outside of Disney?

Glad you had a great time. December is a great time to visit, mild weather and low crowds!:)

Sounds like you were on our flight Lynn - whereabouts were you sat?

Sorry to hear of the 3 hour delay on your way out. Who did you fly with?

We had a 3 hour delay with Virgin and it really does get you in late when arriving in Orlando and spoils your first night.

Hope you have a great time on your Christmassy trip.

Thanks for your report.

Susan

Sounds as though you had a lovely time ~ Shame about the delay.

Hi!
We were on 37 D,E and F -nearish front right infront of toilets.I t was a good seat as nobody behind kicking the chairs!! :cool1:

Yes,Virgin flight too.December is with B.A - never flown with them before. So interested to see what like.

We only went to Disney parks.Only went MGM once. Its my least favourite and do all we want there in the one day.Its a bit disorganised how you see Lightening McQueen. He looked great though!!

I'll try and figure out how o attach some pictures,:thumbsup2

Where did you stay in POR?Was it in the mansions or AB section. We are staying there in July and just wondered what each section was like. Also, alice in wonderland tea party, how much was it and how long did it last?I had not heard of it to be honest but DD is celebrating her 5th birthday there and want to get her involved in as much as possible.
thanks:banana:

Hi!
My memory is like a seive!!Wonderland Tea Party was an hour.It was about $40 each child. My 4 year old enjoyed very much, but my 3 year old missed me too much...maybe a bit too young!

Our room was just across the bridge from the main building, cant remember what it was called - sorry.Plenty of walking wherever you stay.It was beautiful, but I wont go again because I was too scared of the water and my young children.

Lynn
