We will be in Florida (Bradenton) for a short trip, 2/16/07-2/21/07. We're flying in to Tampa and out of Orlando, with the hopes of doing WDW the last day or 2 before we leave.

Has anyone ever gone over the President's Day weekend? I've heard that the crowds can be bad. We'd probably be at WDW Monday (maybe) and Tuesday before we fly home on Wednesday. Do you think it will be packed on Monday and less crowded on Tuesday, or extremely crowded both days.

I'll be going w/my husband, almost 3 yr old daughter, 10 month old son, and my mother who doesn't get around well at all. My mom will probably stay at the resort most of the time though. I'd just like to know what to expect before we decide if we're definitely doing Disney on this trip or not. We were just there (minus my Mom) in September, so we could wait until our September 07 trip, if we HAVE to. We have plenty to keep us busy in the Bradenton/Sarasota area if not.

Our other option is to move the dates to January 11-16.
Thanks!

We are going that week and expecting BIG crowds. All of the Touring Plan days are 7,8 and 9's for that week. I think Tuesday will still be crowded, personally.

I am from New Orleans and many people in the Gulf South and throughout LA get the week off for Mardi Gras and head to WDW. That it falls during President's Week this year just makes for bigger crowds, IMO.

We are staying at the Contemporary and the entire hotel is sold out with the exception of a Garden Wing Suite which is I believe $1,000/night. Don't know about the other hotels, but this is an example.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for letting me know about the people traveling from LA and the heavy crowds. I was expecting to hear that, but still disappointed. I'm not sure what we'll do now.

I've never done any of the planners, so are 7,8, and 9's at the top of the scale? I'm guessing it's a 1-10 with 10 being extremely crowded. Do you think it would help to do Tour Guide Mike if we do decide to still go on Tuesday?

Thanks!

This may be a good idea, even though I'm thinking those dates may coincide with MLK weekend. The crowds would be up then, but not as high as President's Day weekend.

**One note though about Jan. 11-16. It seems that I've read over on the Resorts board that some people were having trouble finding availability at the WDW resorts for the 2nd week in January. It wouldn't hurt to try though.

I've been down a number of times over Pres. Day week. Yes, it does get crowded, though not as bad as Christmas or Easter. Getting an early start is helpful in managing the crowds, as well as making full use of Fast Passes.

Best wishes! :)

We've been twice during Presidents Week and it wasn't as bad as I expected. And that's coming from someone who always went to WDW the first week of December (when it really was a slow time!). We arrived at the parks at opening, made use of early entry days, used fast passes and ate our meals at off peak times. Waking up early (and I do mean EARLY!) made all the difference for us.

I went during Pres. weekend last year...

There was a line for the TTA, if that tells you anything!

We went to years ago and our last day was the friday of pres. day weekend, we had mormal crowds all week then, BANG! all these people, this year we are leaving on the friday to hopefully avoid that.
