What's interesting about Disney theme park-inspired film adaptations are that the goal is to bring the viewers into the parks. So, when Disney makes a new Pirates of the Caribbean or Haunted Mansion, they hope the boxoffice is big enough that they're create new lifelong Disney World or Disneyland fans.

I chuckle as I report to you that Buena Vista is working on a feature film version of the Matterhorn rollercoaster ride, also known as the Matterhorn Bobsleds, which has been part of Disneyland's Fantasyland section since 1959. It never works, which is why I find this hilarious, although the modern version at Disneyworld's Animal Kingdom is pretty intense.

Anyways, the studio has hired Jason Dean Hall to write a script for the project, which has a working title of The Hill. The idea is to do a thrilling, fast-paced movie centering on five young adventure seekers who, for mysterious reasons, are called to the top of the mountain and encounter a Yetis on the journey down. There's said to be a supernatural twist.

:rolleyes1

Hopefully it's better than Third Man On the Mountain... I know it's a classic but it's hard for me to sit through the entire movie.

Interesting news, thank you for reporting it. I just hope it is a reasonably good film.
I would love to write a script of course for Disney. AH... maybe one day.... :)

I've known about this movie a while. Also being developed are JC and a new and different than the previous HM movie.

I'm curious where the OP's unsourced speculative quote is from.

They need to do a new version of the ToT movie. If they're doing it for HM, why not ToT?

I think that would be interesting too, a remake of ToT. I can write it.

I wouldn't mine a better ToT movie, but if the market would allow it I'd like it based off the rich Tokyo Sea attraction and not the US versions. It has a very different storyline.
