I have 11am reservation at Akershus but I couldn't get a FP for FEA until 530.
A) I'm not sure we will last that long in the park. But we can try
B) I can't book any 4th FP until after 530 when we will likely want to leave the park.

Should I just wing it with FEA? We don't plan to do rope drop - I would assume a 10am arrival. Then we could try to get a Soarin or TT FP instead ?

Depends when you are going, but waits have been down for FEA lately. You can get in line for it when you arrive at 10. I would rope drop anyway, to get either TT or Soarin in.

If I were you I'd keep the fastpass as a backup and try to do FEA before breakfast. If it's too long of a wait you still have your fastpass and if you don't end up needing it you can modify it to something else.

We got out of akershus at 10:30 on a mild/moderate day had a fp for fea at 12:30 but it was only a 15 min wait so we just waited in line and then changed the fastpass.

Easy. Just hit it between 9:00am and 10:30am...there is very little wait. They may post it as 30 minutes or 60 minutes, but it's not. There is no FP+ for FEA before 11am, so it's 100% standby. Unless the ride breaks, the line stays pretty short. We've done it many times that way.

Or just modify your existing FEA FP+ to noon or shortly after. It may take some work, but you can do it.

If you could get up a little earlier and get there by 9-9:30, you'd be looking at around a 20-30 min wait

Ride it when you get there. The fact that the FP+ doesn't open until 11 am makes the standby line move smoothly from 9-11 am.

If it gives you any hope, I was initially only able to get a FEA FP for 6 p.m. on our Epcot day, which really messed up our evening plans. (We are going in late November.) . Lo and behold, after checking for about a week, I found a noon slot yesterday morning and was able to switch. Fingers crossed that you find an earlier time (or are able to ride it early like others suggest!). :)

I agree to keep checking for an earlier one.

But at Epcot, there are so many fewer things that need a FP. You do have the Tier 1 options (Soarin, Test Track, FEA), but the Tier 2 rides usually have shorter times (I wouldn't base things on the current wait times as it seems to be especially crowded right now), so don't necessarily need a FP.

I was in your exact same position in Sept. 11:00 Akershus, 5:00 FEA.

This is what ended up happening.

We showed up at about 10:00 after doing a couple things in Future World. Thought we would wait to meet A&E before our ADR. FEA line said 15 minutes. We rode it then got in line to meet A&E.

Then, while I was at lunch, I was able to change the 5:00 FP to 12:30! We rode it again after Akershus with the FP (by then the line was over an hour.)

So, moral of the story is go between 9 and 11 (they start taking FP at 11 so the line starts backing up) and/or keep checking if you can adjust (even while you are there). We did both and got on it twice.

Wow. Love this story!! Gives me hope
