Trying to figure out how to take advantage of the FD, and do a cruise in one trip. Airfare is a big expense, I want to do FD in 2009 (if its still available), do the 5 days or so at WDW, then follow with a 3-4 day Disney cruise. It would be expensive to reserve one and then the other. I wonder how to get the best deal. Of course I will check with the agent I use, but they don't know as much as the DIS!
Does this make any sense? Has anyone modified a land/sea pkg in this way?

If free dining is available, you would have to book two separate reservations and leave two deposits, one for the resort and one for the cruise.
You cannot combine free dining with a land/sea package.

Thanks, I was afraid of that. My DH only wants to do the cruise, so , who knows, maybe will do it in separate trips anyways.

As previously posted, you can pay for the dining plan on your land/sea package and keep it one reservation, but not if you want free dining ..

I've also read that you don't get much (if any) of a discount by doing the land and sea package; I think sometimes you actually get a better deal booking them separately anyways (and if you throw free dining in the mix, it should be a much better deal:thumbsup2 )

I was doing some looking today and yes, your right. If we go on 2 separate trips, I could pick a better time to cruise. Different dates can be so different in price. I guess my DH would be happier if he skipped WDW and he just did the cruise trip. My DD, her DH and the kids and I will do the WDW trip during free dining. It may be for the best, other than maybe flying into MCO twice in one year.... The more Disney the better, for me!

Thanks everyone.:dance3:
