FBLA National Conference to be held in the DL area next June!

I just wanted to give a heads up to all my fellow Dis'ers who are planning a June Vacation to DL area. The Future Business Leaders of America is holding their National Leadership Conference June 25-28 2009. This is the one of the largest high school organizations in the country and at least 7500+ high school students, advisors, chaperones, judges, exhibitors and guests will be in the hotels and parks all around the DL area The selected tour company will begin to book rooms, airlines, and transportation next month. Of course park tickets will be part of these packages. Most rooms will be booked from June 24 through the night of June 28. If this is a planned time for you in the DL area, be prepared for the area to be full of teenagers and nervous adults (as an advisor, I am one of the nervous adults). Truthfully, the are good kids for the most part, but some people get nervous around so many teens so I thought I pass this along.

My daughter's in FBLA, and although she made it to our state conference last year, hasn't made it to nationals yet. I would LOVE to have her there next year -- with apologies in advance, of course, to other vacationeers who can't handle that age group en masse

Ugh! High Schoolers in large groups is the worst!!!! I often end up there in May when all the schools are there on trips. Although, I hope everyone going has a grand time!

FBLA in Indiana is so small everyone goes to the state competition. I have had as many as 15 students qualify for nationals from my school.
