Just be aware that a lot of the resorts are no longer paying any attention to faxed requests. You should be making any and all requests at the time of booking, realizing that they are just that..requests and are in no way a sure thing. A lot of people are very disappointed when they get to their resort and to their room only to find out they didn't get what they had asked for.
So, list the things that are most important to you in order of importance. For us that would be..non-smoking, a particular area of the resort. I never ask for third floor of Magnolia Terrace, with a full view of the river, on the corner and non-smoking. Way too much asked for. Just keep it simple. Go ahead and try the fax route. It can't hurt (at least I don't think it can!!) and if you don't already have listed the things you want/need, it can maybe help you get a room closer to what you need.
