Faxing room request

I am staying at CBR in June and would love to reqest a section, but I'm not sure if it matters much if the policy is "first come, first served." I've read about people checking in at 9:00 in the evening to find out they aren't getting any of their requests because all of the request went to earlier guests.
Any thoughts on this?

I would like more info. on this as well. We have ressies for May 11-18th at Pop and we should arrive around 5:30 or 6 in the evening. Should we fax a request? We heard that the 80's is really far away - is this true? Where do we fax requests? Any help would be appreciated.

Just be aware that a lot of the resorts are no longer paying any attention to faxed requests. You should be making any and all requests at the time of booking, realizing that they are just that..requests and are in no way a sure thing. A lot of people are very disappointed when they get to their resort and to their room only to find out they didn't get what they had asked for.

So, list the things that are most important to you in order of importance. For us that would be..non-smoking, a particular area of the resort. I never ask for third floor of Magnolia Terrace, with a full view of the river, on the corner and non-smoking. Way too much asked for. Just keep it simple. Go ahead and try the fax route. It can't hurt (at least I don't think it can!!) and if you don't already have listed the things you want/need, it can maybe help you get a room closer to what you need.

I've been seeing more and more that faxing is no longer necessary and doesn't get you any further than just making your requests with CRO.

Just make sure your requests are in your reservation. No need to fax.
