Faxing room request?

Hi all!

Dh and I are getting excited for our anniversary trip. We haven't stayed in a Disney hotel since our honeymoon! I've heard from people on this board that it's a good idea to fax your room request a few days before your trip. I have a few questions. We're staying at All Star Sports Resort. What type of requests do you suggest we make? We've thought of a non-smoking room, but I don't know what building to request (we're 2 adults, no kids). What other things do you request? I have no idea what to say in the fax. Thanks for any help!

Did you request non-smoking when you made your reservation? If so, that would already be in the system. We faxed a request in early Aug. I just restated that we had a guaranteed non-smoking room(request made at time of reservation) and I let them know that we did NOT need a room close to the pool. We preferred to be towards the back of our building where it was quieter.

Two adults also, no kids.
I have been requesting:
No smoking
Corner room
Top floor
Back side

Top floor/backside for quiet-- and so far has been very effective.
Corner room -- often corner rooms are larger, besides again being more quiet. I have not found the larger room theory effective at WDW resorts. But we sure have been lucky enough to have very quiet rooms.
At check in I have learned to ask to be close to elevators or stairs if possible.
We have been very lucky so far in our requests. ASMo and POR met them all. CSR met all but one.

I also make sure to comment in my fax requests that I understand these are only requests and are not guaranteed.

The advice about the quiet rooms is great. However, if you would rather be closer to the lobby, buses and food court (which is great BTW), ask for the Football building. It is very close and is between the two pools. I have stayed in it twice and Baseball once. Baseball was nice for the convenience to the baseball pool, but the walk to the food court and buses was a little long. The Surf's Up building is also close, but I have not stayed in it.

I'll be getting to the All Star Sports on Sept. 14. What is the fax number for room requests? I have not tried that in the past.
