Has anyone ever had quest services fax a room request for another resort that you are staying at later in your vacation? I either need to do this or have a friend fax in the request at their work on the right day(s).

Thanks for any help!

Gregg

Most hotels are ignoring fax requests. Your best bet is to call CRO and have them note your preferences on your reservation.

I wouldn't bother with a fax. As long as your requests are in your reservation you will be fine.

Really? It has worked for me EVERY time. I have had great luck with it, usually getting the exact room I ask for.

If your preferences are on your reservations then there isn't any need to separately fax a request.

Your requests will download with your reservation when it comes time to assigning rooms.

Well, here's what I found with my latest trip:

POR - ignored my requests -- we got put in a room way out there, next to the north bus stop. No food court for us!

Poly -- I checked in early. I had put my request in my reservation but the CM at the desk didn't appear to even look for that. So I basically asked for a certain set of rooms and was lucky enough to get it (because I got there early).

It's difficult to say if your requests were "ignored" or they simply couldn't accommodate them. How was resort occupancy and did you ask if there was anything available in the food court area?

I'm not sure what the front desk CM see's when you check-in, but I thought that the room assigning department took care of, well, assigning your room. I know that front desk staff does have some flexibility to move you, but it would be interesting to know if they just see your general information, or all the details when they pull up your reservation.

Sorry it didn't work out for you this trip.

Lets start with "REQUEST" It is just that so just beacuse you didn't get them doesn't mean they were ignored, just not met.

However, the only way to make sure they got them is to make them on the reservation. Requests over the fax are going in the round filing cabinet under the desk in most cases. The volume became overwhelming.

Plus, keep them realistic... I love reading about requesting a certain room. Chances are slim... yes, you might get it, but it's not like they are going to throw the current occupants out since you requested that room. And then what??? they have no idea why you wanted that room so the room they give you could be completely opposite of what you wanted.

That's all I ever do and haven't been disappointed. When I call to make reservations I just give them my preferences at the time. Saves me and Disney a lot of extra work later.
