The purpose of this Assignment is to review the fun we’ve had using our cameras in 2024. All cameras and skill levels are welcome.

This is one that will run for 2024. No prizes can be rewarded other than recognition for a job well done!

Please use pictures taken from January 2024 to the end of 2024! Afterall, the intent of this assignment is to showcase your favourite shots from this year.

If you post a picture, please share what you did to take the picture irrespective of whether you shoot with a point and shoot or a dSLR or phone camera. For those with a dSLR, please include your ISO, aperture and shutter speed; as well as a brief description of anything that might help others learn from your experience.

From a photography point of view, this year was the first post Covid year where I actually felt like going out and taking images.

Melbourne has the distinction of being one of the two places in the world with the longest Covid lock down.
I don't know about you.....and perhaps its the Melbourne lockdown factor......I didn't feel like going out in crowds for the longest time.
It took a trip to the UK in 2023 for me to realise that the rest of the world was getting on with life.

So, I made it a point to head back out there with camera in hand. I've realised two things:
1. Work life has completely impinged on my free time. This will be something I will need to change in 2025.
2. I need a new camera system. (Bwa ha ha ha ha)

Here are some of my favourite images from the year.

January - The promise of a new year.

This one isn't the best image I've taken or as fun as my puppy (yes, he's 135 lbs and still growing) in single digit temperatures, but rather one I've been trying to get a decent one of for years and finally managed a week ago - I'm sure the Disboards compression will crush the details, but that's the SOOC image and it's sharp to the sensor limits.

Simply a point and shoot trying to showcase the different colors of the Atlantic Ocean at sunrise that was hidden by clouds. The blues and turquoise colors were amazing!

Despite getting a new camera this year, I didn't do a lot of "photography." But my wife and I did get some fun vacation pictures.
