I don't know if this has been done before, but I think it would be fun and informative for us all to list our favourite WDW restaurant and why. It could be a favourite meal, a favourite character experience, favourite atmosphere, etc. . .

If you have more than one, please list them in seperate entries.

I like the Castle based on atmosphere alone. We tend to eat there on the last day of our trip, it is bittersweet.

Boy that's a tough one....! Would have to go with Liberty Tree Tavern...dinner. First of all, Liberty Square is just such a special place....and the whole atmosphere inside the tavern is classic Disney. That plus the quality of the food makes it number one! (Should be a fun thread!)

Kona Cafe!

We have eaten there 5 times and really enjoy both breakfast & dinner there. I just love the whole atmosphere of being at the Poly. And, service has always been friendly and very efficient.
Awesome food, great service, and tropical atmosphere...perfect for me! :)

Le Cellier! The atmosphere, the food, the servers - all wonderful. I can't wait to return!

Definitely 50's Prime Time!! We had THE best time with Mom and Cousin Bob!! Oh, and also the food was good!! :p

Oh no! This is going to be a tough one for me. We have had so many great dining experiences at Disney World that I have LOTS of favorites. Ok, I'll TRY to narrow it down but there's no way I can pick one so forgive me:cool:

Yachtsman Steakhouse - We had the best meal there on our first trip to Disney. I was happy the moment we walked through the lobby of the YC. I know some think it is a bit stuffy but I just love the decor and the hardwood floors. We had the earliest p.s. that is possible since we did have our children with us. We practically had the restaurant to ourselves, sat by a window so we had a pleasant view as the sun started to go down. The staff from server to maitre d' and manager all came to the table and talked with us and complimented us on how well behaved our children were. Everything was wonderful. The salad, the bread they served, one being an onion bread of some sort was still hot when they brought it to the table. I know my cholesterol level may pay for it one day but I am a meat and potatoes girl at heart. I ordered the prime rib and it was done exactly how I liked, and it melted in my mouth. My dd was 7 then and she is now nor ever has been a red meat eater. I had her try a bit of my prime rib and it's good thing it was a nice sized piece since she kept asking for more bites since it was so good. DH loved his steak and all 3 kids enjoyed their meals and coloring so much they were angels (that always helps a dining experience doesn't it parents? LOL)

Liberty Tree Tavern - Only have done lunch there but love it. Their Sally Lunn rolls are great (can you tell I'm a bread lover too?) The food is good, not stella , but the atmosphere I just love. I could LIVE in Liberty Square.

Le Cellier - Yup the meat, potatoes, and bread thing again ;) We have had great service there, I adore the pretzel bread, prefer the filet to the prime rib, and like the atmosphere. It seems cozy to me.

For fast food:
Beaches 'n Cream-It's a tradition and there is just something about those burgers and fries that we love.

Cantina in Mexico - I have to have my Tex-Mex fix once in a while and enjoy the taco salads and sitting by the water looking over at the other countries.

Ok, you know I could go on but I've made this post long enough. Sorry, I tend to ramble when I talk about Disney <sigh>.

Jiko. Hands down. Dinner at Jiko with Ron as a server. Of all teh WDW restaurants, this is the one I chose to celebrate my brithday at.

Best Character Breakfast: 1900 Park Faire--- nice, large selection on the buffet. The made to order omelettes are fantastic, the service is top notch, and the characters are great, and many you won't find elsewhere!

Best Character Lunch: Hollywood and Vine-- great selection on Buffet, good service, and the character interaction is fantastic, upbeat and fun.

Best restaurant for parents night out: Narcoosee's--- food is great, as is the service. The view of the Seven Seas Lagoon and the MK is very romantic

Best Steak Restaurant: Le Cellier-- great food, great service and nice atmosphere.

Best Ethnic Restaurant: Boma--- large varied selection.. love the different soups and salads. The service is really good.

Best Buffet: Cape May Cafe Clam Bake at Beach Club-- we NEVER miss this meal! It is one of the very best values in WDW! The food is great, the service is great, and we never leave disappointed! Leave room for dessert!!!

Best Family Style Meal: 'Ohana--- plenty of food, and great, if you love meat! The service is great, and the kids love the coconut races! Good food and good fun! Also, good view of the MK, if you happen to get a window seat.

Best Seafood Restaurant: Fulton's--- great fresh seafood, fixed without all of the sauces and such you will find at other seafood places in WDW. Service is good. Ask to sit on the 2nd deck for the best atmosphere.
Best Family Restaurant: Mama Melrose-- great food, good service, and the atmosphere is nice. DD says they have the best spaghetti anywhere!

Best Family restaurant: 50's Primetime: fantastic homecooked food, fun servers, and fun atmosphere. We absolutely LOVE this place!

Best Atmosphere: San Angel Inn-- great place for lunch in the hot afternoon. Feels like you are dining under the stars with the boats going by. Food is good, margaritas are too. Service can be a bit slow... but no problem, if you aren't in a hurry.

It certainly is tough to pick only one! I think I will have to go with Kona Cafe at the Poly. We had dinner and dessert there, and it was absolutely outstanding! My very close second choice would be 'Ohana, also at the Poly. Yum!

Best Breakfast - Crystal Palace - excellent food, wonderful atmosphere and great character interaction. Chef Mickey's is a very close second for the same reasons (just a little nosier)

Best Lunch/Dinner - Rainforest Cafe (great food), 50's Prime Time (awesome atmosphere and food), Concouse Steakhouse (great food)

Yachtsman Steakhouse-excellent food, great service, great atmosphere.

Anyone know my favorite? The regulars should.

Shula's in the Dolphin!!

(big surprise)

I would have to say our favorites are Spoodles & Jiko, we have always had great meals at both of these restaurants. On our last visit I had the Tuna at Spoodles and it was the best I'd ever had. My wife had the Beef Tenderloin with macaroni & cheese and she just loved it at Jiko's. If you love M&C you will have to try it at Jiko's it is out of this world.

LOL. I'm a new "regular" (if there is such a thing) and I know it's a favorite of yours! So much so that it will definitely be on my list of "must do's" on our next trip to WDW! I may look mild mannered but just let me loose in a REAL steak and potatoes place....:Pinkbounc

The top two are fairly easy but after that, it gets hard. Here's a quick top 5.....but I could probably substitute another 3 or 4 restaurants in the 3 thru 5 positions (that I listed here)....

1) California Grill - love everything about it....great atmosphere....excellent sushi....good variety....always a different menu....interesting desserts....good service

2) Flying Fish - always fresh and flavorful....service has always been excellent....great scallops and oysters (when they are on the menu)

3) O'Hana - can be a little loud but I love the food....I'm a big meat eater and this is the place for tasty and large quantities of meat....salad is very good along with the dumplings....fun atmosphere if you have kids

4) Biergarten - have been there twice in the past couple of years and was very impressed....pleasant/friendly atmosphere....good buffet food....fabulous roast pork (this puts it over the top for me)

5) Marrakesh - I love couscous and their's is very good....we have always had a good meal here....the belly dancers are a nice side show and are 'very easy on the eyes', if you know what I mean.

Well, prior to our most recent trip I would have said the Yachtsman Steakhouse. But, we just returned from a six day trip on Feb 6th and we had the best dinner we have ever had at WDW at Le Cellier. The service, atmosphare and quality of the food was outstanding. I started with the chedder cheese soup, had the 7oz filet with the cream cheese mashed potatoes for the main course with the espresso cheesecake for desert. Not only was the service, atmosphare and quality of the meal better then what we have ever received at the Yachtsman but the bill including tip was about $37 less. We spend about $125 including tip at the Yachtsman and the bill including tip at Le Cellier was $88. The Le Cellier is now the must do steak meal on our list for our upcoming Aug into Sept 10day trip.

Gene...finally...someone besides me that mentioned the pork at Biergarten! Isn't it the best?! People get freaked out by German food...not sure what it is....all they think of is sauerbraten. Well I can't imagine anyone NOT liking that roast pork....it is fantasic. I'm too embarassed to say publically how many portions I had!

cd&kids........I'm not embarassed and I usually have at least 3 portions of the roast pork.....and my portions are generally a good size. I also love the apple chutney they have to go along with it. My mouth is watering thinking about it.........

My favorites...

1. Restaurant Akershus for dinner. I grew up on a lot of the foods this restaurant serves and it's kind of like comfort food to me. I love the quiet atmosphere and friendly staff that are usually more than happy to chat when they have the time. I understand that the buffet will be changing to a full-serve restaurant with the cold buffet served as a salad course but I enjoyed it while it lasted!

2. Crystal Palace for breakfast. There's something so cheery and comfortable to me about waking up in this glass dome. The food is good and the service has always been excellent. My favorite park character Tigger being there is a bonus.

3. Boma for breakfast. We not only had a meal here when it first opened but actually a complete experience. I spent a lot of time talking to the staff about the food and customs. My son was made Junior Chef of the day and we were even given a pineapple as a gift. I still have the plant that I grew from the top of that pineapple. I continue to treasure this restaurant for its ambience, staff and the food isn't too bad either. ;)
