Hey everyone! We are planning a Christmas trip to WDW. We’ve been a few times before, but this is our first visit in five years, and our first time without the dining plan.

We’ve done tons of character meals on previous trips, and without the DDP, we don’t plan to do any on this trip. I’m thinking we will do all QS meals.

What’s your favourite QS restaurant at each park? I’m looking for a few ideas. We are a family of five with two teens and a 10 year old

It's been a few years (also going back this Christmas) but our go-to QS places:

AK: Flame Tree BBQ (disclaimer: we haven't eaten at Satu'li Canteen yet and plan to do so this trip, so this ranking might change)
MK: Columbia Harbour House (really not a lot of competition in this park...)
DHS: Docking Bay 7 & Ronto Roasters for actual good food; the area in front of Tower of Terror for convenience even though the food is extremely mediocre (Fairfax Fare/Rosie's/Catalina Eddie's)
Epcot: festival booths; Yorkshire County Fish & Chips; La Cantina de San Angel; Les Halles Patisserie; Tangierine Cafe (though I think they changed it now so it's some sort of booth and not a proper QS anymore...)

Bonus Disney Springs: Polite Pig; also obviously a chain but we are very partial to Blaze Pizza

AK - Satu’li Canteen
Epcot - Connections
MK - I’m more likely to take a park break and go to Capt Cook’s or Contempo Cafe
Studios - been so long since I darkened those gates I have no clue.

HS- ABC Commissary. Good food in a more relaxed and comfortable setting. Especially if you sit in a corner somewhere. Can be a nice quiet meal depending on time of day.

MK- Cosmic Rays. While the food isn’t anything special, we love going at a slower time and sitting by Sonny. It’s silly but fun to us.

No must goes at the other parks but:

EP- Yorkshire. I’m not a fish eater but it’s a must stop for the others in my party. For me my favorite QS I’ve had there is the BBQ place in American pavilion. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten at the same quick service there. We either sample stuff at the food booths, go TS, or have tried multiple different places.

AK-only have eaten at Restaurantosaurus and Satuli but liked them both.

EPCOT- the Germany Pavilion QS with pretzels and sausage. Also the Japanese QS up the hill. Sorry don’t recall the names of either but not hard to find. Yorkshire Fish Shop is a must do for us.

HS- Rosie’s American Cafe for the burgers and ABC Commissary which is indoors and air conditioned.

AK- Flame Tree BBQ

MK- Recently remembered that Tortuga Inn sells turkey legs.

AK-Satu'li Canteen
MK-Pecos Bill's
DHS-Docking Bay 7
Epcot-hard to say, we ate at the festival booths this last trip. Usually I eat at Lotus Blossum Cafe though!

AK - Flame Tree
Epcot - Les Halles bakery in France. They have great sandwiches and things (many people don't know that). Plus - half a baguette to go is always good. Bread and drinking around the world!
DHS - Pizzarizzo - No, it is not good pizza. But there is something about this place that makes me feel like I need to eat here every trip. Seriously - if you are looking for good pizza - this is NOT it - and yet I have a compulsion to eat here.
MK - Casey's Corner - corn dog nuggets and fries with that hot, melty fake cheese. Ok, I think we have established I don't actually know good food but, these are the things I eat every trip.

But OP - I wouldn't completely rule out a sit down even without the dining plan. Look at the Plaza in MK and some resort restaurants. No characters and honestly, it isn't that much more than a full meal at a CS.

MK ~ Columbia Harbour House
Epcot ~ Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie in France
HS ~ Baseline Taphouse (pretzels and charcuterie), More substantial: Ronto Roasters
AK ~ Satu'li Canteen

Haha, same! Why, when I look back at our QS experiences does this one stick out as one of the more pleasant experiences? The pizza is not good and somehow, I will probably choose it again when we are back in HS in a few months.

I wish MK had a really CS. Well they did before it became TS. There is no CS in the MK worth me eating at now. We leave the park for food.

MK -does a dole whip count?

if not, the Mr & I prefer to visit CR steakhouse 71 for lunch. the club sandwich is far better than the Plaza's & we often split it as it's substantial

another option, visit any of the monorail CS or boat to
WL for roaring fork or geyser point options

epcot - the bakery in paris or connections (a real surprise to me, hadn't expected much). festival booths a great option

MGM often split the turkey sandwich at woodys lunch box & the pop tart. the pretzel & beer option near sci-fi compliments it as a nice break later in day

i wouldn't touch the pizza served @ Rizzos at home. there's some magic afoot wherein it usually hits the spot in the park lol

AK - mr insists on yak & yeti sweet & sour chicken. flametree BBQ a good CS option
