Favourite Places to see Disney Characters

This question has probably been asked before but couldn't see it on any previous threads and I am relatively new here, what are you favourite places to see your favourite disney characters and are there any out of the way places to spot the rarer characters??
We like seeing Sully and Mike @ MGM, and for my youngest DD has to be Ariel in her grotto @ MK. :wave2:

My favorite places are the charcter meals. No lining up and guaranteed interaction. My second choice would be the spontaneous meets when they are round a corner and nobody knows they are there. Very rare, but brilliant when it happens. In January, Chip and dale were hiding in the gazebo bushes in Adventureland and started a game of hide and seek with DS and DD. Much more fun than the usual line up for photo and autographs.

I don't know about rare characters. I have heard that AK is the best for this as they tend to be down all sorts of paths and in nooks, like jane from tarzan or Princess Atta. I've also seen a couple at the big hat in MGM, like John Smith or Hercules characters. Happy hunting,

Claire xx

I enjoy the Sorcerer Mickey, who hangs out (indoors) in one of the soundstages past the ABC Commisary at MGM.

Other than that, I agree - character meals are so worth it. You get all your faves in one place and don't have to stand in the heat to find them.

There are some great places in Epcot - you can meet Aladdin, Jasmine and the Genie in Morocco. Sometimes they are outside but other times they are in an indoor greeting area near Restaurant Marrakesh that is beautifully decorated. In France, you can meet Belle and the Beast in an area that looks like a little book store, complete with a stained glass window of the Beast's castle. What I like about character greetings at Epcot is that they are usually much less crowded than those at the other parks - the characters have more time to interact with the children.

We found Pocahontas and Meeko in a little shady area on a walkway between the Castle and Frontierland/Liberty Square. We also found Pocahontas and Stanley at the Conservation Station at AK. Wendy, Captain Hook and Mr. Smee were hiding out back behind POC. We have yet to find Peter Pan.

We saw the Genie in Morrocco alongside a building by the lake, not back where Aladdin sometimes is. And we saw the Beast out in front of the French pavillion under a tree.

I agree about the character meals, though. It's a guaranteed sighting. I just wish I could get better pictures without food in them!

My DD is forever on the lookout for Tarzan - Guess we thought he would hang out in animal kingdom - but haven't found him yet, but I suppose there are lots of hidden pathways that we could explore on the lookout for him.

- it always seems a little strange to me that there can be alot more sightings of the more obscure characters - ie perla from cinderella or that bear from the country bear jamboree, yet more high profile characters like tarzan or peter pan are harder to find - I wonder why that is :confused3

France is one of my favorites. I usually seem to find Belle, Aurora, and sometimes the Beast here with little to no lines.

Town Square is a cool location too. I use to find a lot of Princesses inside the Expo Hall, but on my past couple trips I haven't seen any. Too bad.

I love finding them in World Showcase. I think that's the best for pictures, and also with less crowds. I've seen Aladdin and Jasmine in Morocco, the Beast in France, Gepetto, Foulfellow, and Gideon in Germany, Donald in Mexico, and Mushu in China.

Since you mentioned Ariel, we had her at the Princess Storybook Dinner at Akerhus in the Norway Pavillon of Epcot. She is never guaranteed. She is in her princess dress of course and she was so beautiful, DDs couldn't take their eyes off of her.

Wow Mushu! :disrocks: - we've only ever seen him in stars and motor cars parade - will have to look out for him !

My DD adores Ariel - we have booked for CRT - does she ever appear there?

My favorite spot is in Camp Mickey Minnie when the Parade is about to start. There are no people and we found Flik and Princess Atta. Also, MNSSHP is great for character interaction, especially the hidden walkway between the speedway and Toon Town. . .so many characters, so little time! :flower:

Unfortunatly no. At MK, she only does meet-and-greets in her Grotto (unless it's closed, of course, then she is in Toontown). At EPCOT, she is a reguar appear at the Royal Banquet Hall in Norway for lunch and dinner but, as mentioned, she is never guaranteed.

I didn't know there were characters along the walkway from the Speedway to Toontown! Tell me more!

When I was there two years ago, we saw Rollie Pollie Ollie and Zoe Ollie at the end of Toontown by the train station, but that was it. So we should take a walk on that back walkway to find more characters?

In 2004 during MNSSHP, Alice in Wonderland characters were greeting on the walkway from ToonTown to Tomorrowland (this is the walkway that follows the traintracks most of the way). We saw Alice, both Tweedles, Queen of Hearts, Mad Hatter, White Rabbit, and even Walrus! This location was not used in MNSSHP in 2003. I never heard of this walkway being used for meets and greets during "normal" park days, since it's a bit of a hike to get the characters there and back from backstage!

As for 2005 - it remains to be seen if the walkway will be used or not! :)

Just checked out your autograph site - WOW !!! It is fantastic and very informative - you have certainly opened my eyes - the kids would be over the moon to see Figment or Nemo :cheer2: :cheer2: That's a top priority when we go to EPCOT to try and track 'em down !!!! :wave2:
