Favourite Character interactions....

Lots of people on here have mention bits about how to meet certain characters/ fav ones.

But I thought I would share our favourite interactions.

1. One morning walking back from breakfeast at the Santa Fa, when we walked into (well he nearly knocked me off my feet) Pluto. He was pushing a trolley with a birthday cake on it. As everyone was cueing at the photo point, we managed to walk down the coridor with him. It seemed like there was no one sle there. Kids loved it.

2. During a quite time in the disney studio park, we managed to "bump" into a few characters. It just seemed about 3 characters appeared and without being mobbed, we managed to get some great photos. I got a great pic of me and Woody.

My favourite was in the studios and Woody spotted my wee nephew and ignored everyone and took his hand and went a walk with him instead of getting autographs with other people (he did that later though).

Also Minnie mouse coming up to me for a kiss!I was so chuffed!!

aww those are lovely memories

i love getting those not sought after moments. sure its fine when you queue up and get a pic but thats all its ever been for me just a quick pic and an autograph.

i have quite a few fave moments lol

the first character ash met was donald duck. he was mobbed in frontierland and ash ran up behind him and started pulling him. he turned around and was jumping up and down and doing peek a boo. i had to pull ash away lol as it wasnt fair to the people queuing lol

when watching the parade these bird jumping things scared ash and she started crying, cinderella came over to give her a hug and ash looked up and said wheres snow white lol. any other child would have just been happy to have cinders. so cinderella motioned for snow white to come over and she did and gave ash a kiss and cuddle. totally made our day

in the studios when the toon train stops we queued and waited and a family burst in and took over all of stitches time. the train pulled away and the look on ashleighs face nearly broke my heart. the next day we queued again and just as we were next the cm took the step away and said no more. but stitch called him back and said one more one more and motioning for ash to come up. the cm said ok just stand in front of the train, he wasnt putting back the step but stitch pulled ash up and had her in his arms and took time for photos and cuddles and kisses. ash ran after the train saying bye to stitch that day. i was almost crying for the second day in a row lol.

i have also had goofy write to ashleigh lots of love goofy in her autograph book. i thought that was really nice, he must have heard me call her.

Weve had loads of great times with characters but one or 2 that are most memorable

We were staying at Sequioa Lodge last summer and went back to the room one lunchtime to have a sandwich. Just as we did they arrived to clean our room so we decided to go downstairs to eat the sandwiches.We found some tables near the doors leading outside onto the patio area and sat there.
As we were eating Pluto strolled by and stopped to play. He spent ages playing with DD, pinching her sun hat, dancing with her etc. We were really pleased we had sat there


When watching the old parade in the studios DD was holding a dalamtian soft toy she had bought and Cruella made a bee line for it. Trying to take it and insructing the 2 baddies to get it for her. When we told her she couldnt have it she said OK I'll take the girl instead. Of course being a good mum I said no to that as well

We have also had great fun in Inventions with Tweedledum and Tweedledee trying to get DH to pick his nose and one of the penguins getting DS to pass him a cake from the buffet

A couple of favourites..

The first time we went to Disney Studios there was a little pre show before they let you through the gates, and chip and dale were fighting with each other - then they deciding to get together and get Mickey it was very funny!

Last December in SL we saw Pluto running away from all the kids chasing after him and then he got in the lift with us and pressed all the buttons

I have many favourite but these are my two favourite visits to cafe mickey;

One night after the park closed we walked through the village and my 3yr old son got a peter pan outfit. He said I want to fight captain hook. We said no you cant do that!! We had booked a table at cafe mickey, as soon as we got in he wanted to get dressed up in his new outifit. Mr Smee soon came into the resturant and spotted him, came and took him by the hand to find captain hook. My son, captain hook and Mr Smee were in the middle of the resturant everyone watching them fighting with thier swords. It was amazing.

Another was one afternoon in Cafe Mickey, it was very quiet and we had most of the characters round us, we were a party of 10 or so. Pluto played on the floor with my two boys with the toys they had bought, and was picking them up and throwing them about which they loved, Mickey Mouse was sat with them playing and writing, Mr Smee was sat with them telling them to eat up, because they were to excited they were not interested in food, He sat for ages encouriging them to eat, and Pinochio took my nephew who was just staring to walk by the hands round the resturant.

All my three children have been to DLP when they were 5/6 months old and I have pictures of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse holding them which are amazing and we will treasure.

oh I forgot about the time tweedle dee and dum came over to me...and tried to tie my earflap hat tassles around my neck...near throttled me....good days good days!!!!

I now make sure the tassles are tiny!!! Think they came over as everyone was surrounding them and I was standing back filming it so now all you see on film is them running towards me and all you hear is me laughing nervously then saying thank you....

Aww this thread is magical

We had so much great character interaction last trip but a couple that really stand out are:

- On our way to breakfast one morning (DLH), we were walking along and Goofy saw us coming (DD1 didn't see him) so he ran over to one of the sofas in the atrium area outside the restaurant and lay down with his ears over his eyes like he was asleep DD1 went running over and tickled him to wake up - it was magical to see her little face. He then gave her a lovely cuddle and they had a chat sitting together on the sofa before we went in for our food

- On our last day at Cafe Mickey (lunch), Pluto was being particularly hyper He was going around cuddling all our party (myself, DD1, and my Mum), you could see my Stepdad looking quite nervous as his 'turn' came - Pluto obviously sensed this and took a huge run towards him and gave him a huge cuddle and lick (on his bald patch!) - I have never laughed so much in my life as my Stepdad didn't know what to do What's greater is my DH was filming it all (every time I watch it I'm in tears with laughter), but what makes it even funnier is he hadn't cuddled DH so he went charging over to him, while DH was filming, and all you can hear is the wind being knocked out of DH and see the camera going wonky

Finally,

- Our second last day DD1 had been desperate to see Piglet, Rabbit & Tigger who had been around in the park that day but we hadn't managed to see them. She managed to see Rabbit but was disappointed not to see Tigger as he is one of her faves. She mentioned it that night and I just said 'well, we can't see everyone you know, they are busy bees' etc. The next morning we were on our way to breakfast and who should be in the corridor on the way to the restaurant but Tigger!! My DD1 (who was 3.5 yrs at the time) ran all the way along the corridor, with Tigger running towards her and he scooped her up in his arms and she was overjoyed - they were like long lost friends. He then put her down and they started bouncing together - it was the sweetest thing and definately brought tears to our eyes In fact I'm welling up just thinking about it now

I've got two favourites which spring to mind.

The first was the first time Cameron met Mr Incredible (his favourite character). We'd got there just as Mrs Incredible was finishing and the CM took us aside and said that if we came back just before 2pm, she'd make sure we got both Mr & Mrs Incredible together before they swapped over. She was true to her word and Cameron was the only one who was able to have have a few minutes with both characters together. Mr Incredible then ran off with Cameron in his wheelchair which he thought was hilarious. His face was just fantastic and it's still his most talked about DLP memory.

The next one was Aladdin and Abu during our last trip. We were just walking by the castle and they were heading back inside. Needless to say, loads of people were trying to crowd them but the CM kept them walking. We weren't trying to get near them at all but Aladdin heard me saying to Cameron that we'd try to meet them next time they were out. He took us into one of the little gated grass areas and Abu pushed Max's pram in and they both spent a good 5 minutes with the boys, playing and letting us take loads of photos. It was really special and much appreciated.

I have a few...

Kyra opening the park with Tigger after being named Family of the Day.

Minnie spending the whole of our time at Cafe Mickey with Kyra.

Me being attacked by characters in Cafe Mickey for my birthday when they brought me my cake, so embarrasing but funny.

Goofy locking me out on the balacony in Inventions and wouldnt let me back in lol.

We had a moment where DD met Buzz properly for the first time and she cried as he was scary but he came up to her and kept making her laugh and in the end he finally got a kiss of her.

We have had so many fab moments, its hard to list them all. But they are some of my faves.

Most valued is getting Cruella DeVil's autograph during the Cars n Stars parade - she was refusing to sign any autograph books (in character) and initially refused ours, but a bit of buttering up, including one shout of 'Love your dress' and she soon warmed up with a response of 'Why thank you daarling!' and signed ours!

She was English, and I wondered whether me being English helped at all (most of the rest of the crowd were Spanish ).

Sweetest was my Son kissing Minnie Mouse in Woodys Roundup on the nose - got a great picture of it. He has now dumped his girlfriend Samantha from nursery, and says he is going to marry Minnie instead now! He also told Mickey this later that night at Cafe Mickey, who was a bit put out!

but, most fav.....

ds2 running across the room to throw himself into plutos arms

ds2 giving minnie a kiss on her nose and a big hug

ds2 going all shy with minnie and she started play peepo with him to get him giggling...

having a lovely chat with cinderella & her prince as we were last to meet them, and then seeing them both in the parade and cinderella waving and blowing a kiss to ds1 (made his holiday)

me - have a cuddle with tigger in dlh

we've had lots of lovely moments with the characters including last christmas when DS (6 mths) tried to eat Pinnochio's nose but the best ever was during our Aug 07 trip when DD was just turned 3.

We had queued for ages to meet the princesses and met Alice and the Mad Hatter. They spent lots of time with DD asking her name (Aobh) etc. and afterwards while we were queuing up again to meet Ariel Alice came over to the edge of the stage and called DDs name and blew her a kiss... then after what seemed like hours of autograph hunting we were walking round towards the Bella Notte and who did we bump into but Alice and the Mad Hatter again and they came over to DD waving and calling "hello Aobh". She ran to meet them and Alice gave her a huge hug. priceless!

This is such a lovely thread

I feel we have had many moments and hope to have many more. My two that stand out are in Auberge, Ariel came over and said she was missing her Prince and would our little man stand in. He got up with her and she showed him how to hold her arm etc.

The second time we were there, little man had just finished his first chapter book with Dada. It was Peter Pan. We went on the ride more times than I can remember. Then, off to the parade. I noticed that Wendy was on our side, so we called to her, and little man waved his Peter ted. She gestured one minute to us and went over to the other side of the float . Wendy came back with Peter and pointed out our son for a wave. I will never forget the look on my son's face, and the people beside us were cheering for him. Then, that night at the Parade, Tinkerbelle came over and sprinkled him with her wand.

So glad that people are enjoying this thread, and Im sorry for those tears it has caused. (good ones I know)

However in discusion with my wife we have thought of more magic moments..

1) after queuing for a while daughter (in a sleeping beauty dress) meet bella and her prince, Prince was so nice, he even asked if he could kiss the most beautiful princess as he bent down and place a small kiss on her cheek.

2) After missing most of the parade on our last day, I managed to scoop her into my arms and ran down the shopping aracade to catch the floats going by. Bella noticed her and waved, prince blew her a kiss.

Last one promise...

On the first day we were waiting for the parade, when daughter turned to me and said....

"Daddy, dreams do come true!!!!!"

I've just found this thread! What a lovely idea!

My most fond memory of a character was when i was in Cafe Mickey with my fiance Luke and Captain Hook approached us and i was ecstatic, im such a Hook fangirl. He began playing with my hair, and wouldnt leave it alone. I have long, wavey red hair so its quite striking. Then Luke said to Hook "We wants the red head?" And Hook pointed to Luke, nodded and he got down on one knee and took my hand. He noticed my engagement ring, took it off my finger and put it back on my finger as if he were proposing to me! I was really happy, it was the first time i had the opportunity to meet Hook and it was definitely unforgettable!

Another moment was again in Cafe Mickey and Goofy wouldnt leave me alone. Again he was stood behind me playing with my hair, and he was stood there for, it must have been 10 mins. Maybe the French just love my hair colour LOL.

My two favourites from our last trip - at Cafe Mickey ds (5) hadnt finished his food and Chip came over, got his fork, picked up a chip and tried to feed ds (who was having none of it!), but Chip got mayonnaise on his fur so I wiped it off with a napkin and he kissed my hand! Other one (that I missed unfortunately), having breakfast at ESC, Minnie Mouse came in and got ds (5) to kiss her nose, she motioned for ds (10) to do the same but he wouldnt so she tickled him until he fell off the chair, dh got some fab photos!
