Favors!!!

I just spent this morning tying tags to our wedding favors...and I was so proud, I thought I'd share. We are having a sort of retro/nostalgic theme with a lot of things in our wedding. ...oh, and it's a home wedding...other wise I'd have picked Disney tin toys!

There are a few repeats of favors, but mostly everybody has a different one, and hopefully they think it's fun, and will want to take it home and keep it. I hot glued an old wooden bingo chip to each tag to give it a fun retro look.

I hope to see everyone else's ideas for favors too!

What a great idea Moonpie! I love those tin toys. After the post this morning about the welcome bags, I've just spent the last 2+ hours looking at items to put into them....

I am very interested in hearing about the theming of your wedding. You sound like a truly unique person and I'll bet you're fun to hang out with!

Thank you! My ideas are a little funky, and I hope my guests won't want to run from the reception screaming.

We are having vintage view masters (ebay loves me) on the tables so that guests can look through fun old view master slides. And underneath, you can see the napkins that I sewed for the reception.....yes, I like color. ...a lot.

We're having a candy table (candy warehouse loves me) with glass jars, silver scoops, and little glassine bags for people to stuff with candy. We will have these chalkboards everywhere that will list the menu, or label things like table numbers and such.

These are our candle holders. They are vintage or almost vintage mexican sugar molds (ebay really loves me).

We are having a super huge dessert spread! We'll have brownies, cookies, rice crispie treats, cookie bars, and cupcakes! Some of our cookies will be displayed on this stand...and the rest will be piled up all over the table! Our cupcake display will be on three stacked wooden cake stands. With a little cake on top to display our 1920's bride and groom, wedding cake topper.

This is the sign that our guests will see when they enter the reception venue. I carved it, and painted it myself....and it's supposed to look rustic...I know it's not perfect yet.

I know....it's a little "unique" looking. But, that's the kind of stuff my fiance and I both like.

Since I only have to buy, give or take, 7 favors, I am buying Lenox Disney ornaments. My wedding is in December '07, and I think this is something people will keep, and they'll think of us every year when decorating their trees. I plan on buying them this year right AFTER Christmas!

Great job...what a great idea! I will be making a mixed cd of our fave songs and printing out personalized labels with our pic for our favors. I want to decorate them like this (but with purple ribbon)...

BrideToBe82 - we're doing the same thing, except we're going to send the master cd to a company that will copy and package them for us. I think it's a neat idea.

We have chosen Hershey Chocolate bars. I know I will want one after the wedding It's a long ride to the hotel
