Favorite Water Shoes

Not sure if this question has been posted before, but I was wondering what people's favorite shoes are to wear to the water parks. I have a pair of quick dry Merrels and flip flops but not water socks. Are water socks the way to go? Also (this might be silly) but do you wear your water shoes in the wave pools, lazy river and the slides? Thanks for any help you can offer. We'll be going to a water park for the first time this June.

IMO you wouldn't need water shoes for a water park but I've only been once...

We have been to TL and BB a few times and have always worn water shoes. I would recommend wearing some sort of protection on your feet. Water shoes, crocs, flip flops or water friendly sandals, however I think that water shoes may be the only kind you won't have to remove and hold while going down the slides. We were never asked to remove our water shoes but other kinds of shoes I saw people being asked by CM to remove and hold onto.

I wouldn't go to TL or BB without water shoes. The ground gets hot and up and down those stairs could lead to stubbed toes.

We absolutely swear by the Lands End water shoes. They are expensive but great. We use them in all the pools as well, even at home in the backyard. They fit/feel/support like sneakers but are light weight and dry fast like water shoes.

They must be popular and Lands End knows it. Last year the kids were $25-30 a pair, this year they are $45!

I also have the Lands End water shoes. I would never go to a water park without them. I do not like to walk around barefoot. I don't want to step on or in anything, so I prefer to wear the water shoes and I keep them on at all times, on every ride and the wave pools.

I got my Lands End water shoes at Sears. They had a great sale last year so watch the Internet and newspaper ads for specials. Also, sign up for emails from LE and you may get both free shipping and a discount.

water shoes in the WPs. I know at TL, there are a couple of slides where you have to remove them. I held them in my hands as I went down.

I wore mine in the wave pool as a practical matter. It was a hot day and I wanted to keep from burning my feet to and from and didn't want to lose track of them while in the pool. I also wore them on the lazy river to protect the top of my feet.

Thanks for all the great advice. I got a pair of water shoes today at K-Mart they are cheap but look like they will hold up for the day (hopefully longer) and they were on sale!!

We have worn the typical water shoes in the water parks, but we find it much more comfortable just to wear our croc flip flops. the water shoes always rub the wrong way and create blisters. We take them off and hold them on the slides. It isn't difficult to do and we've never lost a pair doing so. If we spend a lot of time in the lazy river or wave pool we just leave them at out chairs. I agree with everyone saying to wear shoes at the water parks, concrete on wet feet can tear them up! Plus where there is no shade it can get hot.
