Hi all! What are your favorite upbeat holiday/Christmas songs? I am burning some cds for our upcoming Christmas party and seems like I have a lot of slow, sad, or mellow holiday songs. Would love to know your favorite fun, faster, upbeat Holiday songs? :)

this may sound silly, but i really like "Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays" by N'Sync-it's VERY lively, lol. i made a christmas playlist for last year's dinner, and it was a huge hit :) i'd also recommend "Little Saint Nick" by the Beach Boys, "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town" by the Jackson 5, and "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" by Brenda Lee. For instrumentals, try mannheim steamroller or trans siberian orchestra. of course, you can't have christmas music w/o nat king cole singing "the christmas song" or bing crosby doing "white christmas". enjoy!

I really like "Here Comes Santa Clause" by Return2Zero (the opening act for Beauty and the beast). That is from the Snowfall CD. I bought it at WDW but it might be available elsewhere.

Also, The Brian Setzer Orchestra "****ie Woogie Christmas" CD is wonderful. Brian is from Stray Cats. That CD is very upbeat!

Have a great party!

It Must Have Been Ol' Santa Claus by Harry Connick Jr is my favorite. Actually, there are a few great songs on that album
Another album to check is Jimmy Buffett's Christmas Island (Ho, Ho, Ho and a Bottle Of Rum)

Even though I don't like her music normally, I LOVE "All I Want for Christmas is You" by Mariah Carey.

:teeth:

I'm not a big Mariah Carey fan, but I like All I Want For Christmas is You. It's very upbeat. Grown Up Christmas List by Kelly Clarkson is good also.

Will there be kids at the party? Grandma got run over by a reindeer is a big hit. lol When my nephews were younger they would laugh hysterically at that song.

Myst

Elton John's "Step Into Christmas" is very fun and lively. I can't sit still when it's on!

"We Need a Little Christmas" by Johnny Mathis. One of my favorites.

I like a lot of the songs listed above too. Another upbeat song I like is Hey Santa by Wendy and Carnie Wilson.

I like all of the ones mentioned. I also like , "Feliz Navidad" and the theme song to, "A Charlie Brown Christmas". :)

I think its by Darlene Love.... All Alone On Christmas, it was in Home Alone 2 I believe.

"Santa Claus is Coming to Town" - Bruce Springsteen. Live performance and good saxaphone solo. Bruce cracks up laughing at the end.

"I saw mommy kissing Santa Claus" - John Mellencamp. His young daughter sings a part of the verse at the end. The Jackson Five version is good too.

"Ruldolph the Red Nose Reindeer" - Don't know who sings it exactly, but it was on a Claymation special with raisins. Hey Rudolph!

"Need a Little Christmas" - Angela Lansbury? it's from a musical.

Rockin Around the Christmas Tree
Jingle Bell Rock
Grown Up Christmas List
Walking in a Winter Wonderland

Those are my favorites.

I love Trans Siberian Orchestra's Christmas Eve in Sarajevo!

"Christmas All Over Again" Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

"Christmas Time Again" Extreme

"Jingle Bell Rock" Randy Travis

"What Christmas Means to Me" Paul Young

"Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" Bonnie Spector/Darlene Love

"Sleigh Ride"

These are all on the same cd, it's called "A Very Special Christmas 2"....they have a few other ones too.
