Favorite Universal memories

My favorite memory would have to be HHN16. That was my first one and we had SO much fun. Can't wait until this year!:)

A few of many come to mind: standing next to the UO globe and watching a space shuttle liftoff...losing my PBH room key (and express pass) on the first loop of the Hulk...getting tossed from Margaritaville for, er, behavior related to too many margaritas :faint:

I can't believe I forgot this! Watching Jimmy Buffet perform on the balcony of Margaritaville.

In chronological order:

1) first ever roller coaster ride: front row of HULK
2) first time i ever maxed out with 999,999 on MIB
3) Met my wife at a DIS meet:cool2:

I have so many favorites with ds, petting a baby dino, Barney, Spiderman, etc., but Dh is pretty hard to impress, thinks everything at the parks is too commercialized, would rather be fishing, so one of the best is when dh couldn't believe how fantastic the Hard Rock Cafe tour was. He also fell in love with the Hard Rock Hotel and the Jaws ride on that trip! Now I don't feel like I'm dragging him along like I do at Disney...found all the info here, Thank you!!!

It's hard to pick one. I share a few with ya'll like 1st front row Hulk and definately the MIB all 9's. The first time my son rode King Kong without cowering on the floor of the gondola was a biggie. One of the simple pleasures was a cup of coffee on a park bench in Central Park at closing time while the kids played in the grass.

You guys are getting me "PUMPED." We are going in a few weeks. I haven't been to US in over ten years. My favorite ride was King Kong. Is it gone? Loved ET and Jaws.

I almost forgot, my first meal at Mythos "THE CORVINA":cool2:

Hmm, probably the look on my normally "How Much Did You Pay For This" husband's face as he rode Hulk again...and again....and again.... and DS9 said, "THis FOTL stuff Really ROCKS, Mom!" My DH not only had renewed appreciation in my trip-planning skills, but by trip's end, he had already decided which on-site hotel we would be staying in next time... and how many days!

ANother great moment - DH took our more "fearless" two kids inot The Terminator, and eldest didn't want to go. It bugged him that he didn't have the total gumption to try it - but on the other hand, I was proud of him for stating, "No, I'd just as soon not spend tonight thinking of beady electronic red eyes staring at me, thanks." As it turned out, he and I bought some frozen lemonade to pas the time and had a grand time slurping them up outside Schwab's, waiting for the others to return. At 11, he was fast-approaching that "might-not-be-cool-to-hang-out-with-MOM" age, so I was thrilled to have some just-us time to relax and chat with him. Very nice.

ANd now for one last, great, thought irreverent moment...

ON our way into US one day, a female attendant approaches DS9 and says cheerily, "Say, there, young man, how about I take a picture of you and your family?" DS9 blushed and responded a polite, "Um, no thanks, ma'am!" as we walked away. ONce we were well out of earshot, DH turns to DS and says, to my horror, "You should have just said, "Bite me, ya old hag!" :sosad: I of course admonish DH, and we move on. Well, the next day, we come into the park again, and this time, DH gets approached by another female CM, who also inquires if we would like a photo taken of our family. DH declines, at which point DS9 - instantly and well WITHIN ear shot, innocently snaps forth, "Dad! So how come you didn't tell her, "Bite me, ya old hag!" That's what you told ME to say!" :confused3

DH turned crimson red... and deserved every bit of it.

It is hard to pick one, my son's excited face as we go on ET and him hopping/skipping excitedly as we have just ridden Woody Woodpecker are always memorable.

However, for me though I get goosebumps when I hear the movie music as you enter into Universal Studios so that's always my main memory.

When the Hard Rock hotel first opened and had "front of the line" my boys wanted to go so badly. We lived in CT at the time. When we went to Orlando I told them the hotel was sold out and we could not stay there. When we flew in to Orlando my friend who lives there was driving and pretended to get lost. We were at the front of the hard rock hotel and the boys sat in the car while we "pretended" to get directions. I said "Get out of the car, we are staying here". They were so excited. It was wonderful and the trip was great. Since then we have moved to Florida and US/IOA is our favorite destination. We leave to go back this friday.

Other memories: My son got picked to get slimmed and eating green eggs and ham on his 10th birthday. :thumbsup2

hey. im very new to this site but im addicted already (you're all like a big family here!!) im from northern ireland but have been to orlando 10 times- 11th this july!

just wanted to share my favourite memory. Once when I was on Blutos BilgRat Barges with my family. We were split into two cars (me(19) , my dad and my little brother (16) where in the front car while my big brother (20) and my cousin (20) were in the second. On every water ride my dad is a complete messer splashing everyone with water (I know he should keep his hands in the boat at all times!) but this time I had convinced him not to soak me (i was in white shorts!! and planned on hiding at the drop so as to not get too wet). It was near the end of the ride and I wasn't too wet (proud?) when all we heard over the speakers was "would the guy in the 3rd row please sit down!!!". I looked behind me and there was my cousin drenched trying to splash my big brother so had raised himself a bit, bright red with embarrassment. he got severly told off at the end while my boat just pissed ourselves laughing.

Being the first person in the park I walk alone to ride MIB its such a different feeling than seeing the crowds at the end of a Friday or Saturday night. The first all 9s on MIB is also at the top of the list.Living in Chicago for so long before moving to Florida its always good to take in the Blues Brothers show.
