I love the smells of Disneyland and how I COMPLETELY forget about the outside world while I am there! Love it!!!:)

I also love Peter Pan, Splash, HM, Pirates and pretty much all the other rides too LOL.

I agree - it's that total immersion experience - like being on another planet for a day!
I've been trying to explain it to friends who think we're mad spending thousands of dollars, flying 12 hours across to the other side of the Pacific to spend 6 days at a theme park!!
I am not a massive fan of Disney characters as such - I don't wear Pooh Bear pyjamas and actually (big confession) Mickey kind of creeps me out a teensy bit - (don't flame me please - it's the squeaky voice...)
BUT we love Disneyland - have been four times, but this will be our first visit in 10 years so... very exciting! - and first ever trip with kids (we say we had them to justify return trips to DL... joking, sort-of...!)
I've forgotten the smell.... popcorn and..???

My favorite thing about going to Disneyland is walking thru the tunnel & being transported to another world....free from reality, a place where you're always a kid, no worries.

I always feel sad, almost empty when we leave the park on the last night.

It's a feeling I don't get anywhere else!!

Its hard not to LOVE Disneyland. It is super hard to pinpoint the particular things you love so much about it. You can make a list until your blue, and you will still miss things you forgot. You cant jot the feeling you get down on paper. Its a feeling you cant explain to people unless they have been there. There are way too many elements of sights, smells, tastes and sounds that all play together that drive your senses mad. LOL Thats what Disneyland is all about... teasing your senses.

But yes the constant laughing and happy people running around, and the kids in awe of everything believing its all real, and the music that makes you skip and the smells of all the artery clogging goodness, and the smells of the water on the pirates ride, and of the Daper Dans singing on Mainstreet, or waiting in an air conditioned queue like Soarin while you wait anxiously for the most amazing ride in the world... :cloud9:

OH I dont know where to stop!

Ooh yes, the smell of the Pirates ride - that I DO remember - even after 10 years, and the sound of the splashing and the pirates singing... can't wait!

Gotta love that... or the pirate sitting up on the bridge with his bottle of rum as he hoots out his high pitched ... WO WOO WOOOOOO WOOOOOO WOOOOOOOOOO

I LOVE that there's no such thing as "the outside world" in Disneyland. Disney has done a FANTASTIC job with theming all the rides, restaurants, and other attractions and it makes it all so real. I also love how most of the rides are family-friendly, so even a total chicken like me can have fun! :thumbsup2
