If you couldn't get dinner reservations to Be Our Guest what would be your second choice?

Crystal Palace is good if you like buffets. I've heard good things about Liberty Tree Tavern. I would be tempted to hop on the monorail, though, and eat at one of the nearby resorts.

Edit: If the castle atmosphere is what you want, you could try to get a reservation at Cinderella's Royal Table.

Yeah, Cinderella's Table would be fun, but I think it's beyond our budget.

Going to a resort is a good option too!

My boys, 16 and 14, made sure that I had Liberty Tree Tavern scheduled for our upcoming November trip. Dinner is served family style. Ham, turkey, pot roast, mashed potatoes, stuffing, etc..... This is one of their favorites!

LTT is good, or hop the monorail to 1900PF at GF. It has Cinderella and the stepmother and sisters, and is a lot of fun, and costs less than the castle. WCC at WL is also a good meal, and you can just take the ferry over from MK.

For me it wouldn't be a second choice because BOG wouldn't be my first choice. I'm not a big fan of the TS restaurants at the MK, but if I had to dine there I would choose Liberty Tree Tavern. In truth though I would make the short 5 minute walk over to the Contemporary and dine at the Wave or California Grill or take the monorail to the GF and dine at the Grand Floridian Cafe or Narcoossee's or even take the boat ride over to the Wilderness Lodge and dine at Whispering Canyon Cafe or Artist Point.

We like Liberty Tree Tavern, and we also like The Plaza. The offerings there are a little lighter, but it is an enjoyable meal, and a nice place. The only downside is that they don't have a bathroom in the restaurant. You have to go outside, and walk over toward the Tomorrowland Terrace to get to the bathroom.

Actually, if you take the boat over to Grand Floridian, you get off the boat right at Narcoossee's. Great restaurant! If you choose to stay in MK, then I'd go with the Plaza. But you didn't say if you had little ones. If so, you might want a character meal, and that is no the Plaza!

I have never been to WDW, this will be our first trip. I will be traveling with my father and my 10 year old, who doesn't really care about charcters. I think he would like the food at LTT. I didn't know that you could reach the Grand Floridian and the Contemporary so easily from MK! That opens up alot of other choices. If we left the MK for dinner and wanted to go back after dinner would it take long to get through the gates of the MK? I don't want to take too much time away from visiting the attractions.

returning to the park will be the same process as entering in the morning, bag check, possibly metal detector, and then the touch point. In general, I would say probably about 45 minutes from leaving the resort where you eat to being back in the park.

DD and I are veterans, so we have often gone to nearby resorts for meals and have highly enjoyed doing that. The monorail and ferries can be attractions in and of themselves, and the monorail resorts are all really cool to visit! That being said, on our first trip we had dinner inside the MK and I don't think I would have wanted to leave the park, being so inexperienced and unsure and just not wanting to leave! We actually had dinner at LTT that first day at MK, and we really liked it. I didn't think I would want "Thanksgiving type food" on a hot park stomach, but it totally hit the spot. There are arguably better restaurants at the surrounding resorts, but there's something very cool about park table service dining too! Full belly, and voila, right back in the action!

Have fun whatever you decide! :flower1:

We really enjoy Tony's. It gets mixed reviews but we have always had great food and service.

We've only been once so far, but we enjoyed the Skipper Canteen and are going back on our trip next month. Liberty Tree is always good, too.

We prefer to eat at one of the monorail resorts (usually either The Wave or Kona Cafe) and go to MK from there.
I would agree. The only MK restaurant we have bothered with is Crystal Palace and IMHO Kona Cafe or 'Ohana are better.

We had a lunch at the Wave and next trip will go back for dinner. It was an easy trip on the resort monorail. 1 Stop your at Contemporary downstairs and then back and around on loop to park it was really simple. Went to Narcossee's as well but feel that was more of something to take the time and really enjoy the whole setting from apps to dessert. Nice setting on the lake.

Exactly, I think we will want to stay in the MK esspecially since we'll only have one day in each park. I live in Oregon so we've been to Disneyland quite a few times and always eaten in the parks, but next time we go I think we'll venture out and try some of the restaurants in the Disney hotels which I've heard are really good! So I think it will be Liberty Tree Tavern. I think my son will like the colonial theme too!
