I am already looking forward to shopping on my upcoming trip! :rotfl: I was wondering if there are any really unique things to check out in Epcot at the WS? Would love some ideas! :jumping1:

It's probably not unique, but I would buy a Christmas ornament from each country. I am actually trying to buy enough ornaments this year to have a Disney tree.

When my brother went last year he bought everyone in our family a WDW mug with their names engraved at Epcot. He bought them because we are always breaking glasses and these are heavy! Of course I can't let the family use them and take the chance they will get broken so they are displayed in the kitchen on a shelf which drives my brother crazy! I don't know how unique they are to Epcot but I love them.

I love the carved animals in Mexico, also the sterling silver carved ring with my nickname. My daughter loves her pearl necklace from Japan.

With me, it's anything in France...wine, perfume, dishes, dish towels. Epcot is my favorite place to shop. Have fun! :flower:

In China they have these neat small containers that would be good for pills, advil, etc in your purse. I'm planning on getting one of these. I think they're about $10.

Is it Japan? Well this year if I lose the weight I want I am buying a kimono. I just think they are so beautiful:) (but expensive)

Oh where to start. I have a mask from Italy and China. Candy and trolls from Norway (and I plan on getting one last troll on the next trip.) Wall scroll, kimono, blue chop sticks with gold leaves on them and little silver cat from Japan. A pinata from Mexico. A Mah Jong set, health balls that jingle, slippers, little Buddha, an umbrella that's not really an umbrella but I don't know what you call it, a small dressed up made up women in a little glass dome, a small miniature of one of those screens your pull across when your dressing and a row of cats that means different things (lucky, money so forth) from China. Some Off Kilter CD's from Canada. Annnnnnd i'm pretty sure that's it. For now anyway. I LOVE WS can you tell? :teeth:

I love the different colored little good luck cats in Japan and China. I purchased the different cats in each. They are around $5 a piece.

An expensive souvenier is a hand made doll from Germany. They let you choose the hair style and length, clothing, face shape and eyes and make the doll right there while you wait. It is around $125 depending on how expensive the outfit is.

I bought a Hummel jewelry box in Germany and a beautiful trinket dish in the U.K. I also alway pick an oyster in Japan to get a pearl. Oh, and the U.K. has the most gorgeous chess sets I've ever seen!

I gave the leather key chains from Canada as gifts and it was a hit with the girls. They had tinkerbell (and other characters) and you could engrave anything you want in it and I had their nick names engraved. It was very cute! It is a great idea to think about it in advance, because when you arrive there is so much to chose from and it is tough to decide what to buy on the spot!

A few different kinds of sake from Japan... :teeth: Oh, and a set of sake glasses and pitcher! Mind you, the sake never made it home...

princess: It's a must to open an oyster in Japan to see what you get inside. The first year (2003) I ever tried it, I got twins. 2 in 1, so I had necklaces made for my DD and I (kids weren't with us). In 2004 DD best friend opened one and got a silver one. Now I am saving all of them to one day have them strung for my DD as a gift. Also DD and I are huge fans of the Hello Kitty stuff in Japan too. princess:

Hi,

Picking an oyster in Japan sounds so amazing, can anyone give more details? How much does it cost? Can you get a necklace made there? How does it work?

Thanks

My favorite from our trip last year was a tea cup with a lid and two soup bowls with spoons from China. They have a beautiful floral pattern on them. I still haven't used them as they are on display. I also really liked the perfume I got from France but that's just about gone now. I think I'm going to pick out the pearls from Japan on our next trip and let my two DD's pick one out too.

I love looking around in the store in Japan. I especially love to buy the rice candy! Delicious!

Outside China is a cart that sells little marianets (you know puppets with strings! :p ) Can't spell. They have large ones for $20 and small ones for $10. They are all kinds of animals. My kids each got a large dragon one a couple of years ago and it is still their favorite souvenir from that trip. They get them out quite often and DD is now 13! I wish i had bought the small goat this past trip. So cute. They seem to be well made and are soft fur and just really cute. A good deal for a nice memory!

DH loves his Off Kilter cd from Canada, and listens to it all the time. DD loves the alabaster eggs from Italy, and has a beautiful hot pink one on a stand in her room. I love my Princess Diana Memorial Tartan scarf I found in the UK, and also my Burberry Baby Touch perfume that I got there. Every time I wear it, the smell reminds me of being at WDW.

The WS is my absolute favorite, and I am looking forward to next weekend so I can find more treasures.

I'd love to have a mah jong set - was it expensive?
