I am really looking forward to our upcoming meal at 'Ohana, but getting a little nervous after reading reviews about people feeling rushed here. It seems like a good server can make all of the difference. Can anyone recommend a server? Do they even take requests like this??? :confused3

Thanks so much!

Any Server that will bring me my Food and drink refills is enough for me.
I did feel like we were being overlooked because we were a party of 3 with
no very young kids. The groups around us we much larger and got most
of the servers attention.
We had to either tap her whenever she was zooming by us or speak really loud to get her attention.
There were 2 different servers that brought us things and the place was
busy at 10:00 am.
Hope for the best.
The O'hana Breakfast is very good and worth having patience for.
We never had dinner there before so I can't say how that would be.

We ate there in August and I don't know about asking for specific servers, but for us the "feeling rushed" at 'Ohana only had to do with the fact that the food came out very quickly. After that, there was never any pressure at all and with all the entertainment for the little ones, we spent well over an hour in there and really enjoyed it.:goodvibes

We ate there this past May....Carolyn was our server & we really had a great time!

I think that all of the servers at Ohana are wonderful, from what we could see.

I do want to point out, as far as feeling rushed, we did not feel rushed to eat and leave at all; however, at the end of our meal we were waiting for our last character (Pluto) to make his way to our table when we noticed the family that was brought in and seated at the same time as us being taken over to where Pluto was by a CM. We decided to try this to free up our table and to get out of there. We were sent back to our table. At this point a manager came over with a hand computer in her hand stating that we were at the 1 hr 15 minute mark which is what they try to limit people to and the time that it usually takes the characters to make their rounds. I thought that this was odd and somewhat unnecessary for her to come to us and state that we were at the time limit. Hello.......we tried to free up the table and leave.

This is the only complaint that I have and can't really say that it was a complaint. It was not something that we even discussed after getting Pluto's autograph and pictures and we left. Just feel that it was odd.

I can give you some info from the last two years that we dined there. In 2006we had a great server, but unfortunately I do not remember his name. He was really nice, and was great for getting our drink refills in a timely manner. Also, during this dinner we did not really feel too rushed. Overall, it was a great time.

In Feb of this year we had Patty (of course I remember the name of a bad server..lol.) She was not very nice, she was kind of abrupt and seemed like she would rather be anywhere else but there. We also felt VERY rushed, but I put an end to that. I just told the server who came with the next course to please slow it down a little bit, and they did. Patty, however was not very good with getting our refills. I remember I had to ask another server to remind her that we are waiting for our drinks for quite some time.

'Ohana used to be one of our favorites, but we are actually going to skip it in 2008 to try out different places.

If you go and they are rushing you, just let them know, and I am sure they will slow it down for you.

Also, as for requesting a specific server, that probably won't work since 'Ohana is very popular and it will probably increase your waiting time for getting a table.

We ate at O'hana in September and loved it, as usual. I will say that we had a server who practically forgot about us and who brought us a cupcake even though we weren't celebrating an anniversary or bday (not that I'm complaining about getting one of their delicious cupcakes for free!!!) We also had to stop 3 different waiters/waitresses to get them to please have the waffle guy bring waffles by our table. He kept missing us somehow and we didn't want to get up to find him in case a character came around. We saw the same waitress that we had had in May and she was really great, but I just can't remember her name! We did sit by the windows overlooking the lagoon and that was where her tables were both times.

I can't say that we ever felt rushed by anyone. We loved the food both times and had a great experience.

We had dinner at Ohana in early September. Our server was friendly walking around each table with the skewers of meats and seeing if we wanted anything else/more. The person who brought out the main dishes (was a runner for the kitchen I believe) was Cousin Chris. He was extremely friendly and made our experience great.

We've never really felt rushed at Ohana. I don't know whether or not you're doing dinner or breakfast, but as far as the "being rushed" complaints, they pretty much apply to the dinner there. There are a few courses here, such as starters, then appys, then your skewers, then dessert. Many people have complained that all of the courses are running together and they feel rushed by their server to get going.
We'll be eating at Ohana this coming Saturday, and I can't wait. If we feel rushed, we'll politely ask the server(s) to slow it down a bit. We ARE the customer(for all it's worth) and we need to be treated as such. It always gets me how people will go thru an entire meal and not say a word to the servers or management, then they'll go elsewhere and complain out the wazoo.
If you're doing breakfast, you should not have any problems as I have never read any complaints about breakfast where this is concerned. If its dinner, then relax, take it easy, and tell the server if you're feeling rushed.

Have a good time!:)

Didn't have a favorite server because I didn't even get a chance to see the nametag of the ones that were serving us. They were whizzing around so fast. I didn't really care for 'Ohana and probably won't go back. We didn't feel so much rushed as much as forgotten.

It might have something to do with the fact that we were stuck in the back and couldn't see what was going on. My fault that I forgot to insist on the main dining room, but after waiting over half an hour for a table, I just wanted to eat.
