I'm a die hard romantic. So I have to go with The Way We Were. God, when Streisand is brushing the hair away from his forehead at the end of the movie, outside the Plaza Hotel, bring on Kleenex!
Next would be The Sting, and then All the President's Men. I love well thought out, intelligent movies, where, at the end you say, "Brilliant!"
Well, I was only in it for about 5 seconds and I was only about 6 months old, but it's still pretty cool.
There's a scene where Robert Redford is walking through a crowd of people, shaking hands and introducing himself. At one point, he shakes hands with a hippie looking guy who's holding a baby and says "cute kid". That's my dad holding me.
A River Runs Through It. His narration of that movie was spot on. I can't imagine that movie would have had the same effect on me if he did not narrate.
For a movie he actually appeared in, it would be The Natural. That movie was magic. I still get chills everytime i see "that scene".
I think the only movie I liked him in was The Natural. Not a fan, he has looked old and tired our for as long as I can remember. I can't remember what movie it was but he played the love interest to a much younger woman and it grossed me out big time.
I guess i would have to say Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. I had the pleasure of meeting Robert Redford when I worked in NYC in 1982. He was so handsome he took my breath away! I asked him for his autograph, and he told me he loved my red hair, i told him i loved his too! (ok he was a blonde, but i was tongue tied!!!)
