OK I am really confusing myself as to which restaurants to go to in disney. We have found some favorites and keep wanting to go back there, but then we don't try anything new!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyways, we are going to try the Liberty Tree Tavern in the MK (previously going to Cinderella's Castle and Tony's Rest), going to Hollywood and Vine (again) at MGM, and LeCellier (again) in epcot. We were thinking of trying the restaurant in Norway but now realize that the buffet will no longer be offered when we are there. Are we overlooking any really good restaurants? I have checked out the dining section of this site and know about the top ten and worst ten restaurants. I would really like to try some place new in the World Showcase---hopefully to get an authenic meal from another country. We also don't want a meal that is too expensive---some of the top ten restaurants are well beyond our price range. They sound wonderful, but too pricey. Thanks for any suggestions!

A great homestyle buffet meal is served at Trail's End Buffet in FW. They serve breakfast, lunch & dinner.

We have eaten at Cape May Cafe in the Beach Club & have enjoyed it.

We have also enjoyed the Big River Grille on the Boardwalk near the Boardwalk resort.

We are going to try San Angel Inn in Mexico on our next trip & possibly Alfredo's (have heard many different opinions on this restaurant).

Honestly, we eat a lot of meals off-site because even though I'm a Disney freak, I am never that impressed with the Disney food.

If you do venture off-site for a meal, try Pebbles in the Crossroads Plaza. Very good food & we feel it is reasonably priced.

It isn't a full service restaurant but Tangierine Cafe in Morroco is realy good and has a nice seating area. The full service restaurant Marrakesh is good but somewhat expensive.
You could try Ches de France for lunch when it is less expensive.

The Plaza at MK has good sandwiches in a pleasent atmosphere. I love the Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch.

What about the Morroccan restaurant? We eat there at least once each visit.

Always visit the Rose and Crown numerous times, too.

We love Spoodles on the Boardwalk. It has lots of different foods from Pasta to fish. Our kids love the variey and it usually doesn't take long to be seated with PS.

We have 2 restaurants we always repeat, and then we try others.

Our 2 that we always repeat are Cape May Cafe Clam Bake and 50's Prime Time Cafe.

Some that we have just tried within the past year and liked were:
1900 Park Faire Breakfast
Narcoosee's
Hollywood Brown Derby
Le Cellier
Tempura Kiku
Tusker House
Boma
Pecos Bills

Other tried and true restaurants:
'Ohana for dinner
Hollywood and Vine character lunch
San Angel Inn
Garden Grille
Fulton's
Planet Hollywood
Mama Melrose

The ones in which we have not been impressed:
Whispering Canyon Cafe dinner
Liberty Tree Tavern character dinner
Boatwright's

Good luck on your decisions:)

Do you want to stay in the parks, or are resort restaurants an option?

In the parks I have enjoyed:

San Angel Inn for lunch
Rose and Crown for dinner
Marrakesh for lunch
Prime Time for lunch and dinner
Mama Melrose for dinner

Didn't think the Brown Derby for dinner was worth it.

Not in the parks:
Love love love Boma
'Ohana is a favorite of ours
Beaches and Cream for lunch
Chef Mickey's
Planet Hollywood
House of Blues
Wolfgang Puck downstairs

Did not like Fulton's or the Rainforest Cafe

Good luck!

Mickey Mom, When are you going to H&V? I hope it was not breakfast or lunch with the characters. I just read another post that said there would no longer be characters there. I don't know if this matters to you, but I have small girls and it does to them.

Princesstimes2: We were planning on going for an early lunch (11:30am). Our girls are older so seeing the characters is not as important as it used to be. We saw the characters at Hollywood and Vine two years ago and it was a nice suprise, but we are not specifically looking for a character meal now. Thanks for the information!

Aurora 713: I was mainly looking for restaurants in the parks since we will probably be spending most of our time there. We are staying at the Beach Club (our first time at an epcot resort), so we intend to go to Beaches and Cream. I don't think that we will get to Downtown Disney this trip. The day that we arrive we were thinking of going to the Boardwalk and maybe try the ESPN Club. We were also toying with the idea of taking the monorail to the Kona Cafe (my husband and daughter love coffee), but I can't imagine that we would take that much time out of our day/night at the parks. Thanks for all of your suggestions!

mickey mom, someone who works at Disney replied on that same thread later......they said that H&V will only be open for dinner. FYI.

What a shame, it is truly the best character lunch we have ever been too. I was hoping to eat there again! The dinner really is weak in comparison. Wonder if they are finally going to put a Toy Story character meal in instead? When they closed the Soundstage character meal, that is when they opened H&V for character meals, so hopefully they have something else in the plans. I guess it could also be due to cutbacks during this slow time, and perhaps it will reappear when tourism starts looking up (which I hope is VERY soon!)

Princesstimes2: Thanks for the update. We always loved the lunch at Hollywood and Vine! I guess that we will just have to try a different restaurant.

I know how you feel - we have our favorites too. This past trip we tried several new restaurants and there were 2 that I can't wait to revisit. It was our first visit to Olivia's at Old Key West and what a great surprise. The food was excellent, the menu varied, nothing fancy that you feel you have to go back to the room and freshen up and great service.

The second surprise was at Chef's de France for lunch. Two of us had the price fixed lunch and we were stuffed. For $14.95 we had excellent French Onion Soup, a great ham grilled ham (not small by any means) and cheese sandwich with salad and dessert was a nice sized portion of creme brulee.

We normally do one sit down meal a day with counter service the other meals.

I thought the above two restaurants were good values at Disney.

Consider doing lunch instead of dinner at some of the restaurants that look pricey at dinner time. We love the Yachtsman.
