Favorite restaurant in MK

We like Liberty Tree Tavern, Be Our Guest, and Tony’s.

LTT - We did lunch but is the same for dinner. it is colonial themed and all you care to eat of rolls, salad, meats, sides, and desert served family style and a few years ago they were able to accommodate food allergies and brought individual plates to us instead.

Be Our Guest -We like dinner there. The theming is amazing and I have heard they have brought back The Beast to meet after your meal. It is prix fixe where you get a choice of an appetizer and entree and for dessert there is the dessert trio unless that has changed have not been in a few years. I like the French Onion soup and filet.

Tony’s - We usually have dinner. It is themed for Lady and the Tramp and is Italian. I have had either the spaghetti and meatballs or chicken parm plus the tiramisu for dessert. We choose a time around 4:30 pm so depending where you sit can see the flag retreat ceremony at 5 pm I think it is or can quickly go outside for it.

If we have to eat at Magic Kingdom, it's either lunch/dinner at LTT or breakfast at Crystal Palace. I'd like to go back to Skipper Canteen at some point but we've tried it twice and service was painfully slow both times... just don't want that much time sucked out of our day.

Tony's or Skipper's.
Almost always hit the monorail for a resort meal.
Tony's is a once a year or so nostalgic treat.
Skipper's is an occasion novelty we take folks to who haven't been.
Just too easy to use Disney transpo to hit good food.
As mentioned MK isn't the place for a foodie but theming is above par.

The only place in MK we eat with any regularity is Skipper Canteen. We really enjoy it. Harbor House is ok for a quick bite, as well. We often leave and head to one of the nearby resorts - so many better options there.

Be Our Guest. Walking into the ballroom is like walking into the film. Some people complain about the prix fixe menu but I've had good luck ordering the filet.

I know the general consensus is that Skipper Canteen is the best option in MK but I had the worst meal I've ever eaten in the parks there the one and only time I tried. Everything was way overdone/dry/cardboard. I was so disappointed. Maybe my expectations were too high, but I didn't think anything was good, it's tied at the bottom of the park with the current iteration of Pecos Bills. (I had the Char Siu Pork, but the noodle bowl and Pao de Queijo were also equally dry and terrible). Maybe I just got them on a bad night but it was bad enough to keep me from ever going back.

I was pleasantly surprised by lunch at Crystal Palace. The nice thing about a buffet is your bound to find at least one thing you find edible. I would recommend a late lunch there and then snacking if you get hungry later.

I have heard that Cosmic Rays isnt terrible but have not eaten there myself in the last 5 years. Same with Pinnochio and Harbor House.
Be Our Guest was edible but nothing extraordinary food wise.
Have not tried CRT, Diamond Horseshoe, LTT (not my thing), the Plaza, or Tonys.
Stay away from Pecos and Lunching Pad.

Many years ago, a guidebook I used said that being the best restaurant in MK was like being the tallest building in Bismarck, North Dakota (no offense, Bismarck). So eventually every MK restaurant will be nominated in this thread.
Exactly. I’ve had good and bad meals at so many. The one I return to is LTT but even that one isn’t consistent enough for me to say “it’s the best” I simply return because due to allergies my family doesn’t do traditional Thanksgiving food!

This trip I’m trying monorail resorts for lunch. I had no idea S77 and Kona Cafe have different menus at lunch than dinner!

Exactly. It is also why the Pirates Lounge will be the undisputed #1 reservation as soon as it opens 😂
Seriously, I hope it has some food and isn't just drinks like Oga's. Please! We beg of you!

I ate lunch at Skipper Canteen a couple of weeks ago. I had the "Hardy Har Char" Siu Pork and it was very good. My daughter's meal was also very good I just don't remember what it was. Probably my best food experience at Magic Kingdom when considering waiting area, ambience, service and the food itself.

Thank you for that update. We did this last year and the Beast just did a quick turn around the room never getting close to our table. Think your post made up our mind about what character dinner to reserve. PS - love the french onion soup there.
