Favorite Resort at Christmas?

There are absolutely, positively no if, and, or buts about it during Christmas.

(Any other time of the year it is nice but not my favorite resort)

Fort Wilderness with a golf cart to loop after dark. Daily 10 minute bus trip to WL.

Finally stayed at WL last December and it was absolutely beautiful. I never saw it decorated before as I normally go in September. It was on my bucket list to see Disney during Christmas and to see how the lodge looked all decorated. Well it was well worth it. I resort hopped to look at other hotel decorations but to me the WL won hands down.

Do the FW folks decorate your sites like for Halloween? I would take a trip over there just to see.

I like Poly for summer trips, but IMO, it’s not on the same level of “Christmasy” as the others mentioned above. That’s just my opinion, though. Enjoy!

I agree. I love Poly and usually stay there during my December visits but not nearly as Christmasy as WL.

Yes! It's almost as good as Halloween.

My first time at Disney as an adult was at Poly during Christmas season in 2017 and I have to say I loved it. For me it was the Polynesian/Hawaiian themed Christmas music, but I’ve seen some people here say they hate the music. I loved it and still listen to it every Christmas!

WL is beautiful at Christmas and I’m glad we had dinner there so we could see it — but if Poly is normally where you go, I wouldn’t give up the monorail. We stayed at GF and it was absolutely beautiful

We are looking to go the weekend before T-Giving. I’m assuming the Christmas theme will be in full swing by then? Or should I wait until after Christmas? Thanks again!

We have been on several Thanksgiving Week trips and there is a lottery for decorating the deluxe resorts. Sometimes we have had breakfast at WCC the Monday before and it was not done yet but was up a few days later so I would come right after the holiday.

I know you didn’t ask me, however, I track the dates of the WL Christmas decorations over on the Copper Creek Villas thread. Here are the dates that the decorations went up at the Lodge since 2018… there’s definitely a possibility they’d be up before Thanksgiving, just no guarantees. Your best bet would be Thanksgiving week or the week after if you want to make sure you see them. Good luck and enjoy!

I like most Poly Christmas music, except some songs sound like 1990s soft rock you hear in a supermarket or dentist's office rather than Hawaiian.
